These are great humidifiers, but only if you have access to a really good water filter/purifier, or have extremely soft (under 20 TDS) tap water.
These humidifiers send 100% of whatever is in the water into the air, so that includes mold and any hard water deposits in the water. Silver based water treatments can mostly solve the mold problem, but only truly clean water can solve the deposit issue.
The other issue with this type of humidifier is they shut off once the tank is empty, but not when the humidifier base is empty, meaning they will leave water to stagnate.
If you don't have easy access to pureified water, and don't want to piss away tons of money buying distilled water, or water filters, get a wicking based humidifier.
The wick based filters rely on evaporation and can use regular tap water.
