I refuse to deal with this bank since they locked my account a few years ago for no legitimate reason and refused to relinquish the deposited funds unless I went into a branch, the closest of which was several hundred miles away. Had to file a CFB complaint. Took a few months to get it resolved.

Read the fine print on what is considered a qualifying direct deposit. From the disclosure, note I added the bold portion.

Qualifying direct deposits are regular, periodic automated clearing house (ACH) credits, which may include payroll, salary, pension or government payments (such as Social Security). Payments through the Real-Time Payments (RTP) network, and payments through peer-to-peer networks such as PayPal, Zelle, Venmo or others do not qualify as direct deposits. Transfers from another Huntington deposit account do not qualify.

Cumulative but to avoid $10 monthly fee, you should keep $1000 direct deposit per month.

To receive the $600 bonus should we maintain the $25k in the account for 90 days or just deposit it at any point of 90days period and maintain it for the rest of the period?

Last time I tried to get the bonus they froze the account for trying to push money from another bank account of my own into Huntington. Customer service said I had to visit a branch to verify my identity, neatest branch was 3 hours away. Their only reply was, "You opened and account knowing you lived 3 hours away?"…they were shocked. I haven't been inside a bank in probably 5 years, opened multiple accounts elsewhere…never had to verify my ID. Avoid this one.

Huntington is horrible. They let someone several states away have a counter check, filled it in with my account number,allowing them to steal $500 from me. They said they were not responsible for reimbursing me because I didn't report it to them promptly. I have been given up after 2 years of trying to get satisfaction.

Looks like this bank gets plenty of love around here. I thought about it, but after getting recently shafted by Chase on their bonus and hearing how great this bank is…..
….think I'll pass.

It says within 90 days, so I'd just make sure it is in there by then and take it out whenever the bonus hits.

I'd do it, but after dealing with the recent Chase checking bonus circus, I don't have the energy to fight with another bank over deposits. It seems some on here have had issues with this bank and I don't have time for it. It's not $600 anyway once you deduct any interest your $25k missed.

I've had an account with them for years (though not my main account) and never had any issues. I don't recall the last time I was in a branch but I remember the staff was extremely nice and helpful. I wouldn't open an account with a bank that is not local though, unless it was a bank set up for that kind of business.

Mine was locked and had to go in. The teller had to see my SSN card and I kid you not, looked at it for 1 second at most and then unlocked my account. No reason given.
