Not bad.

What RAM speeds could you get to work in this if you went barebones?

"Q6. Does the UM773 Lite have pre-installed Windows?
Answer: EXCEPT for the barebones version, all versions come with Windows 11 Pro pre-installed. The barebones version does not include RAM and SSD; therefore, it does not have pre-installed Windows 11 Pro."

Seems worth it to get RAM, SSD and Win 11 Pro license.

Default support is 4800 MH but I have seen reviews of the UM690 model with Ryzen 6800H/ 6900HX which are basically the same CPU, can be overclocked to 5200 MHz in BIOS.

Dang, I've got the UM690. Now I'm wishing I had waited a few months for this thing! But hey, that's how technology progression goes.

You're not really missing anything. 7X3X series is just a rebrading of Zen 3 + 6000 series and 6900HX and 7735S on this are literally identical in both CPU and GPU performance.

Yeah, that's more what I was looking at.

As well as the 7735hs being a little lower on TDP.

Overall though, the UM690 has been fantastic. I have a UM560 for my kid as well. Would recommend the Minisforum brand.

Thanks for this tidbit, I noticed the benchmarks were very similar.

Yeah, I paid $499 for the UM690 barebones, not much a difference here except price. I recommend to anyone if it suits their use case. Still no HDMI 2.1 which is disappointing.

I like it. It has been rock solid and fantastically fast. I paired it with 32GB ram and a 1tb Kingston KC3000.

Yes, via the USB4 port on the front.

It's nice that its about 100 dollars cheaper but also disappointing that the 7X3X series is just a rebrand. The CPU performance from the 5900HX to the 6900HX was also pretty minimal.

Now to find a cheap 16 DDR5 kit.

The actual Zen 4 APUs with RDNA 3 will come later, probably after March and then probably we'll start seeing mini PCs based on those APU. Those are going to have a strong boost in both cpu and GPU performance.

Let's say I opt for the 16gb RAM and 512gb SSD... How does it stack up against the base M2 Mac Mini if I am running basic office stuff and Affinity programs? I'm OS agnostic, but prefer Windows...
