It seems like this game is heavy on micro-transactions.

Not buying til its sub 30. They updates are nice but they are still messing with in-game currency and microtransactions and shit. Dont want to have a miserable grind.

Anybody getting this for PSVR2, give the go-karts a try. 10,000 in the Gran Turismo section in Asia.

I bought this at launch because I'm a dummy and used to be a Gran Turismo hype beast. GT and Metal Gear will always get my money out the gate because I'm a simp for those series.

Game is good and fun but definitely not great. It's what the kids would call "mad decent"

I'm very similar to you. GT and MGS were my favorite games growing up, but unfortunately, I've put in less than 10 hours on GT7 since launch. It's just not grabbing me. It's obviously a personal problem.

I've been playing Gran Turismo since the first one... and sunk, probably, hundreds of hours into GT3. I've spent, maybe, a dozen on this one. The game is GORGEOUS and you have the expected GT play... but the car selection is severely lacking. If I don't have the cars I want to drive... I just won't. I, sadly, even ended up buying a steering wheel for my XBox instead of PS because playing this game is just unfulfilling.

I also greatly dislike the "menu" style, and the fact that you cannot sell your cars.

I picked it up during the last PS sale. Honestly I could have just held off till the new Forza, remember hearing GT7 wasn't that great of a game. But after playing it for a few days I'm pleasantly surprised. Is it a great game? not really but it does scratch that GT itch pretty well. I've always enjoyed the slow ramp up from regular cars to sport cars to super cars. I mostly bought this to check out the VR which is really cool.

As fun as GT7 is I think I'd rather just replay GT4.

it's a racing game, you might get bored after a few races.

If you're into cars yes. I found myself creating liveries and driving around in the online lobbies for the most part. You don't have to be into racing games to enjoy the game

Because it was review bombed by a bunch of jackasses? It's possible to purchase in-game currency with real money, apparently. It's not something that's in-your-face; I don't even actually know how to do it, because I've never seen any mention of it in the game. There's no reason for a normal person to care about this. There are cars that cost like 20M credits. It would be very difficult to buy those cars without spending real money to purchase them. Here's a thought: DON'T BUY THEM. No one is forcing you to spend real money on purchasing video game cars. There are literally hundreds of cars in GT7 that cost 1M credits or less. I've been playing the game for only about two weeks, and I already own over 100 cars. There's nothing that compels you to dump money into this after you've purchased the game. Also, there have been changes since the game was released and review bombed: like people complained that you couldn't sell cars before, so now you can sell them.
Those "jackasses" brought attention to a part of the game that sucks.

The reality is the game was built with online and micro transactions in mind.
If we just "ignore it" that doesn't help with future installments.

I haven't played Gran Turismo in yeeears. Got a PS5 recently to upgrade the PS3. I got GT Sport used cheap but haven't played it yet. To illustrate how out of date I am I told the GameStop guy I was picking up an online order. He asked what it was and I said Forza I think.

Anyway, do I need this? I always played those games casually.
Better off with Forza 7. I have both.

Using target 5% off, it would be a little over 40 after tax and same day pickup, potentially. From ps direct it's about 64.50 and 4 days. Is the 25th anniversary worth the extra $25?

It is but if you use scripts to make some money in game, it becomes easy. I have all the cars and have 'earned' about 1Billion in game currency.
