Deal HistoryÂ

I previously had a 3pc set spinner from SwissGear that looks just like this one. All of them had the button on the top of the telescopic handle broken after 3 years of light use. So the telescopic handle can no longer work. So I try to avoid SwissGear now.
maybe a deal for the colors, but it seems black is frequently this price.
Burgundy has been at this price too, for weeks.
What caught my eye about this model is that it's the close to the dimensional maximum bag size allowed by most of the airlines (62 inch limit), without going over the limit.

Dimension total is 61", which is 2" higher than what Emirates allows. Being cautious, I had to get the checked-medium one. F Emirates, Singapore Airlines has a limit of 62".

It should mention it's a spinner in the title. When is this stupid fad ending? You can't buy a non spinner suitcase anymore.
It's definitely not a fad, it's functional and I prefer spinner to roller 75% of the time as it is much easier to navigate densely populated areas.
With a roller your footprint becomes ~3x as large because your arm extends back to drag the bag behind you. A spinner can roll in front, side and/or be dragged behind you (dependent on quality).
You definitely can buy a roller. I have a Dakine roller, but only use it when I'm rolling with my bike or snowboard as those roll as well.

I can keep the footprint the same as a spinner. I would care less if I was still provided the option. If some people want a casters that will break the first time they hit a crack in the sidewalk, that's on them.
I appreciate the Dakine reference since that's a brand i wasn't at all familiar with. How's the quality?

Dakine makes quality luggage and sports gear, all of which have a lifetime warranty.
I've had my EQ Carry On roller for 7 years with a dozen international flights and a dozen domestic and it's still as solid as day 1.
I have a lot of their gear and other bags - quality products and solid customer service.
Only 1 example of a few, but I had a 2 year old mountain bike bag and the waist strap started to work loose on rough downhills. When I reached out and sent a couple pics, they gave me credit for the same bag so I could get a new one and I passed the old bag on to a friend.
I bought two for our most recent trip I can vouch that they are decent quality for the money. There were some reviews about the wheels failing but the wheels in my opinion seem to be a high quality and no different than my. Samsonite rollers. Let's be honest everything's made in China these days... It's definitely a roomy bag it has a smaller zipper compartment for storing liquids/creams... I would recommend if you're looking for a nice big roller bag... can't speak for international flights but I had no issue of checking this on a JetBlue flight...

As I said, most airlines. At least 50 in this airline list have 62 inch limits, including American, Delta, Southwest, United, Frontier, and JetBlue.
