According to CCC it's normally this price, with the occasional sharp increase.

I haven't used this, but I've used quite a few different penetrants and can't say onenis any better than the other. Most critical factor is Time. Give them enough time and they all do their job.

Meh. Regular WD-40 is a jack of all trades, master of none. So while it works as a penetrant (and lubricant, corrosion inhibitor, water displacer, etc.), it's probably not the best - but may be good enough for what you are doing.

as a lubricant regular WD-40 is trash. it helps free rusty things but will not provide any long term benefits of real lubrication.

WD-40, the original version, is not a long term lubricant. It was actually created to be a Water Dispersant (hence, the WD in the name).

WD-40 has too many product lines now.

About the average price. Not sure if I would consider this a slickdeal and worthy of the Front Page.

As per Camel:

Current $5.97 Feb 07, 2023
Highest * $13.11 Nov 30, 2022
Lowest * $2.68 Mar 07, 2019
Average + $6.30

* since Sep 20, 2012.
+ of the last 50 price changes
