FAQ's:
- No, you cannot use Staples GC's to purchase these.
- No, these do not count towards your spend requirements for a premier membership.
- No, these do not earn you any Staples rewards.
- No, you cannot use coupons/ rewards to purchase these GC's.
- Yes, you can split payment between multiple cards (if your cashier permits it) YMMV
- The limit of 8 may or may not be enforced depending on your store/ cashier. YMMV
- Why is this a deal? Some members have CC's that earn 5% CB at office supply stores (INK and Amex Simply Cash). Others need to meet minimum CC spend.
- What if my store doesn't accept payment with a CC? Your store likely has had issues with fraud and it is managers discretion on what payment they will accept.
- Other chase cards may have special offers for Staples ($ limited). Check your chase account under chase offers.

Thanks I'm down to my last card and need a few more for medical expenses. Plan to buy using my Chase Ink which gives 5% cb at Staples.

Side note: Did anyone experience the Available Balance off by 1 penny from last transaction balance? See attached. Weird, first time this has happened.

I've noticed with some Merchants they charge an initial amount different than the final calculated value and then once it clears it reflects the legitimate purchase value. If that's the case, you might want to wait a couple of days to get your official cleared transaction charge before checking. Should reflect what you're paying accurately.

Outside of that, I haven't had any problems with there being improper values.

Edit: having now seen your screenshot, I don't think I've experienced that before.

Yeah it cleared today and the balance is still off by a penny. Very strange. I have to pay a medical bill tomorrow and will ask them to just run it for the penny short Available Balance and be done with it.

I've had that a few times with the VISA card. Even after the charge posts, the available balance is off by a penny, BUT if I charge the full amount, it goes through.

Thanks, I had the doctor's office charge $33.91 and it was successful. The Available Balance is 0 after settlement.
Just did another transaction on another card, and ending balance is again off by a penny, see attached. Coincidentally last 2 digits of Available balance (90/91) same as the one last week. Maybe it's this value that is problematic by a penny, who knows. Will have the doctor's office charge the full amount again next time.
PS. The MC website has been having more errors than usual the past few days.

How do they enforce the limit per customer per day? Do they take our ID?

No, they don't take the ID but it is easy to remember someone who has purchased $1600 GC earlier in the day. Not too many people do that. If you come back they will deny you (unless you get a different rep).

Avoid hotels, car rental, gas stations. Also avoid restaurants including online ordering. I've used mine at doctors office, school fees, insurance payments with no extra holds.
