From a review... "This says 90° but is more like a 60° bend. Lots or rough places abd the hammer marks where the bend is are very evident. Exspected it to have been forged at 90° not a staright pair heated up and bent with a hammer after original forging. Plus the machined grooves no longer completely meet after the bend was created. "

Hopefully not a silly question. In what scenarios is this tool useful in home applications?

Changing a washing machine gasket. The springs can be at an awkward angle. These would make it easier. I got by with a straight needle nose plier but was a pain.

That's what i observed in some harbor freight pliers and decided to skip for better quality. HB is not cheaper like it used to be. Now everything is overpriced and still same garbage quality. I tried some tools at Lowes much better and nicer. But even more overpriced than HF.

Actual hose clamp pliers work better if you need to do this more than once or twice, as they lock and grab better. But these should work in a pinch (heh).

Same here. I got a pair of 11" ones for $7 w/30% coupon a few months back. Haven't had to use them yet but they seem decent enough. I keep telling myself that I've run out of things worth buying there but I keep going back every few months. But this time I mean it dammit! laugh out loud

When it comes to critical tools in my toolbox, frugalness takes a back seat to quality.
