Edit: Full disclosure. I don't game online so I NEVER used the microphone. Obviously this is huge for many people. My comments above are for people who don't play MP.

I have lots of headsets at home that I game on (Razer, Xbox & Sony Official Licensed) including a pair of Steel Series Arctis 5 that I use for PC gaming. By far, my favorite headset that sounds the best, and is the most comfortable is the Steel Series.

They are very comfortable (to me) and sound pretty good for the money. I never play online, so no comment about the mic, but the game audio quality is good.
I also paired them with the Steelseries GameDac a month or so ago and they sound even better with it.

I recently got the SteelSeries Arctic 7+, and I *really* like it. The 7+ is wireless and has some crazy passthrough tech that I /don't/ love; but what I do love is the form factor and the aesthetics. I love how they cup my ear and they have a nice weight to them; not heavy, but substantial. (This probably wouldnt be considered a Good Thing by most "real" audiophones, but i dig it.)
I'm in for two - one for me at my desk, to free up the 7, and one for my GF.
