I think PNY uses the infamous Phison S11 controller. You can google it. The SSD price is declining at a rapid rate. It seems that when one retailer lowers its price, the others follow. I would wait if you can.

It's one of the lowest priced SATA Drives that I would trust putting in my system.

Bought 3 of these a couple years ago, 2 out of 3 failed within a year. Never had an ssd fail before, would not trust these for any price

For anyone wondering, no DRAM cache but the controller itself has 32MB SRAM. Even without a cache, this thing supposedly has a three year warranty although I can't vouch for whether PNY is any good when it comes to the warranty process

It took me a while to find that, but I see you posted it ahead of me. I'm going to use it as a storage for Steam Games. They are fairly static and this is fast enough for the games.

FYI…anyone who uses the Atomos Ninja V for video recording this drive will NOT WORK! The Ninja wouldn't even see the drive to format it…

Looks like I'll have to return that one terabyte I just bought a couple weeks ago.. good deal!

I haven't had any large issues with PNY but then again I usually back up everything just in case. I see it as a 'no frills' brand.
