Discover Card just announced April-June 2023 Cash Back categories. You can enroll now to begin saving NEXT month at Restaurants & Wholesale Clubs.

Pro tip: Costco.com accepts Discover, where you can buy Shop cards which can be spent in physical clubs where Discover isn't accepted. Also Restaurants commonly run Mother's/Father's Day gift card promos during Q2.

It was always necessary to enroll to earn, but this is the first year that I can remember where they didn't announce the full calendar far in advance.

it won't, apple pay is just a mask on original card number, so transaction will be treated as if you used a Discover card manually.

yup, i usually do that.
five $300 cards.

but they and chase freedom didnt have a 5% warehouse category last year. Frown

it's an old saying that is leftover from a decade or two ago; still making the rounds i see. the idea that you give someone "cash" and received back a "gift card" is unequal and unfair ( which was understandable back in 1995 when you couldn't use a gift card on just any item in the store, you couldn't use a gift card when a sale was going on in the store, and you couldn't use a gift card unless it covered the entire purchase, a gift card could only be used at the store it was issued, you had the be the original owner, etc. today it's no longer an issue.

I always recommend buying digital so that you can use it right away.

Costco allows you to buy anything, including more Shop cards with a Shop card, so you can always convert it to a physical card in store if the need arises (aka you want to use it at the pump).

I don't know about "most", but the Discover It Cash Back card does double the first year's cash back. https://www.discover.com/credit-c...V_CARDS_IT

Note that you need to maximize 2+ quarters since other credit cards like Chase Freedom Flex have signup bonuses of $200 in addition to the cashback.

Can you buy digital if you are doing it for someone who doesn't have a membership? I didn't think I could so never checked that option out...
