Dell.com is the actual dell site, and this specific link is their refurb section, these computers are customer returns. The inventory from the dell site will be newer / current gen hardware. If you do not care about appearance, then consider searching for scratch and dented items to save big.
Dellrefurbished.com sells off lease computer equipment. The system sold are at least 3+ years old. Since these laptop are built for businesses, they often have better build quality than consumer made products (ie Walmart, Best Buy). I was quite impressed with the laptop I bought.
Both sites offer fantastic deals, it just depends on your price range, and what you are looking for. A small caveat for the dellrefurb site, while there are many good deals to be had, there is also quite a bit of e-waste being sold. I would consider any dual core pc and any laptop with a 720p screen to be obsolete by todays standards.
I bought a Precision without an O/S from Dell Refurbished Clearance.
I downloaded their Win 10 media restore, and ended up with an activated copy of Windows 10 Professional for Workstations.
Which updated itself (with my consent) to Windows 11 Professional for Workstations.

Any tips on a refurbished desktop that supports Windows 11? I have an old windows 7 desktop that is no longer receiving updates that I'm trying to replace. Windows 10 will be unsupported in 2025 so I'd rather not get that
Was able to find decent deal on Clearance - Precision laptops. Needed laptop for heavy development type work and got Precision 7540 (i9/64 GB RAM) for ~600$. This doesn't have OS - I plan to get an OEM license Win 11 Pro on it. No coupons work on clearance though.

i got caught up in that scene: put the laptop in the basket and tried to call Dell. tried to call is all that happened, by the time i was ready for check out the deal was gone. so got a hold of customer service and CS made it happen. Grade A and sent right away.
thanks for the offer anyway, this stuff is all a moving target from observation. as always: limited supply and good prices.
