Not sure why this is not on front page. It was last week but for $20-30 more, depends on where you purchased it from. I ordered it two days ago with Amazon for $30 more. Too late to cancel and did an online chat with them but they just told me to refuse or return it. I ended up order another one and will return the higher price one. Thank you, JuJu, for saving me $30!

I know, right? Gah! And I've had mine for a week, and just unboxed and set it up last night to boot. Frown

Small comfort that I would not have done a return on something like this for a $20 difference, even if unopened box.

I had two Pixma printers and they were the worst printers I've ever used both in terms of print quality as well as hardware failures.

The older Pixma mx900 series were built like a rock; these new ones seem "cheaper" in quality. I still have my wife's MX922 and I used generic refills from Amazon; still working good for regular printing (non-photo)

I bought my mom a mx922 about 5 years ago and it's still working great. Think I managed to get one right after they stop making them. It's pretty sad the many electronic products are made to be obsolete within a few years.

Also bought this two weeks ago from the Lenovo deal for $140 out the door with ID.me discount. Seems good so far. It replaced another Pixma printer (MG5500?) that we ran for at least five years exclusively on third party ink. It held up well but needed serviced so as always its just cheaper to buy a new printer.

FYI, the print head got clogged after not using it for a while so I removed it and use isopropyl alcohol and a syringe and cleaned it and it was good again. I believe with 3rd party injet ink there's always that risk but the process is simple to clean the head.

Yeah, that was the good old days.
Before, they realize how much money they could make by fleecing customers.

I like Canon printers a lot, but the reviews and this looks super cheap and flimsy.

I think epson printer in costco at $199 is better as the ink set costs $50 and yields 4000 pages
