You might say, "there are lower ones than this from Apple!" and you'd be right, but notice how those are much lower wattages. In general, higher wattage chargers are more efficient nowadays. The other Apple charger on SD right now, the 96W, gets a 140/200, a very respectable efficiency level for a conservatively-designed, highly safe charger. (It is impossible for a charger to get 200/200 because of how power efficiency works, and you wouldn't necessarily want to buy one from a no-name versus Apple even if it did.)
