As per the previous thread for this stein, it apparently is only for IPAs as the previous posters shared that no other type of beer is worth drinking. The pro-IPA comments got mega ups while any detractors were destroyed. Just FYI: if you prefer anything other than IPA then there is something wrong with you and you are a suspect human being.

I prefer the stein with the lid, namely bc my old man had steins with lids. I heard white doesn't wear as well as folks would like, and I already bought the family the hammertone green thermos', which we all love. So, I noticed the ones with lids were also on sale on Amazon and Stanley's website. Slickdeals add-on for my Chrome browser plugged in some coupon codes and I ended up getting 30% off my order (still have to pay $7 shipping). YMMV, as I'm unsure if the coupon code was tied to my medical ID.Me. Cheers

Absolutely love this mug — it's great. Nice and big and keeps your beer really cold.

While I prefer IPAs, I love all beers. Shame the thread devolved into that.

Wow, a second brand that has vacuum-sealed stainless steel cups that are Dishwasher Safe!
The 16oz lidded cup also looks nice, which is not as good of a sale... but has a built in bottle opener

Now, do I need it?

You can't fit even a small hand inside to wash it out.

Shouldn't a beer 'stein' have a lid and a thing on the handle to open it without slowing down your drinking? This thing won't keep birds from crapping in your beer if you drink outside.

Is that a problem in your area? 😂

Have this and the black one and can say even without a lid they keep cold drinks cold for a surprisingly long time. An advantage of this size is if you only put in 12 oz of beer. It looks like you're only having half a beer so you can always have another half (repeat as needed.) Though I being a sacrilegious lout use this for water after my coffee and when I've had my water make a whiskey/rum, lime, and coke (sometimes with a bit of black cherry kick start for extra oomph). Definitely worth it at this price, even if it doesn't have a bottle opener on the bottom. I've heard the black one will show use quicker than the white one but after 2 months of (alternating) daily use neither shows any difference to my eyes.

Warning: You will routinely see people say that x lid fits this. I have yet to find one that does but really once again it's not needed unless you want to keep things out of your drink as you were outside.

Does this work only when on an adventure or can I just use it around the house?

errr.. I think you have to be adventurous to be able to handle this big boy... I suggest you start with hiking first before you pull something... Best of luck my friend.

If you drink your beer fast enough you won't have to worry about keeping it cold. Good find though!

Can someone explain to me why I see so many people with these at work? Is it just a trendy brand, or is there something that these do that other stainless steel cups don't (aside from the handle)?

Honestly kind of a "lifestyle brand" thing IMO. Vacuum insulated stainless steel drinking vessels have been around for over 100 years, and I have seriously seen some people on SD act like their preferred manufacturer invented it sometime recently.

To their credit, as a "lifestyle brand" Stanley is a pretty reliable company and is generally reasonably priced. Their "lifestyle" message seems to be utilitarian.
