Possibly... you can look up your guitar in the excellent Ibanez wiki

https://ibanez.fandom.com/wiki/RG...80%931997))
This is a solid upgrade from a kid's first cheap guitar if they are taking the hobby seriously. Or an excellent first guitar that any aspiring metal head would love.

Would this be as good as the RG450dx I bought 25 years ago?

I would definitely take this over the $250 Jackson JS32 posted yesterday. It's worth $50 more.

Ibanez guitars are known for their thin necks, so yes, it's good relative to most electric guitars.

Are these Quantum pickups the same as the ones back in the mid 90s which were on their Japanese or Prestige models that I am familiar with? I used to go out of my way to buy used Quantum pickups as they were very nice. I checked the Ibanez wiki and no mention of these current Quantum pickups. The older ones had black hex screws not chrome hex screws like these.

Does this have the nice Edge bridge? If so, worth getting and upgrading the pups.

No mention of the bridge being an Edge bridge in the Ibanez wiki. Doesn't even mention if it's the equivalent of the old POS TRS II bridge they used in the 90s-2000s.

No comment on the quality of the guitar itself, but god damn does that finish job look like denim. Whether you find that a positive or negative is up to you but after my wife pointed it out I can't unsee it!

This really is a smoking deal if you are willing to spend some more money to replace the bridge

PROS
- Wizard III Neck
- Jatoba Fretboard
- Quantum Pickups
- NOT GIO

CONS
- The locking bridge is a floyd rose special which is a pain in the a$$ to work (Non-Steel Fine tuners strip out) with as its not made of steel. If you are willing to invest in De-Floyding or spending 300 bucks for a made in Germany Floyd then buy it.
