I bought this soundbar for my bedroom. In my living room, I have a surround sound system which includes a Yamaha A6A ($2,450), PSA TV2112 subwoofer ($2,600), Klipsch RP-504-C center speaker ($650), Klipsch RP-600Ms ($750), JBL Studio 530s ($600).

After watching some movies in Dolby Atmos, I was surprised to see how well the soundbar could keep up with the sound system in my living room. If this soundbar had a subwoofer output so that you can use any subwoofer then it would be a PERFECT alternative to an AVR.

This is not to say that the subwoofer the soundbar comes with is not good, as it does offer pretty good bass that can be felt. It's just that in comparison, my TV2112 subwoofer can literally shake my entire house to the point of inducing fear and the Samsung sub can't. Which I'm fine with since it's only for my bedroom.

At $950 vs. my $7K system (paid more like $6K), this soundbar is well worth it.
Finally, some useful advice. Now I know not to buy a PSA TV2112 subwoofer so I won't know what I'm missing. drool

Clarity on this thing is amazing. But I'm unable to say I hear anything different with Atmos. I'm playing Maverick and the signal is there as the sound bar shows DOLBY ATMOS. But I can't really hear sounds coming from the ceiling. I currently have the sound bar set to ADAPTIVE and haven't adjusted anything else in the Smart Things app. The room I have it set up in is a fairly square room that is around 14' x 14'. Any suggestions ?
First make sure everything is hooked up correctly, sub is at least 6" - 8" away from a corner (or wall if possible) and near the tv, soundbar is centered and below your TV, surrounds are 135* - 150* behind you on either side (or setup in front on either side...see page 17 of the manual). Then in SmartThings make sure the firmware is up to date which is currently v1010. Then once that's all done make sure everything in the house is quiet and go into Auto EQ then Tune Auto EQ and let it do it's thing. Once it's done start Mavrick back up, turn the volume up a bit, and skip to Chapter 3.

Thanks for this tip. Is Tune Auto EQ in the smart things app?

Hey would you by any chance know the bench that Andrew Robinson's soundbar is sitting on?

I'd like to get one. Thanks.

I have a feeling Samsung will be clearing out the Samsung HW-Q990B. The 2023 HW-Q990C was just released. Keep your SD alerts enabled for HW-Q990B.

Did anybody else lose their pending points from PayPal?

I had 13,237 pending points from this purchase and now there's no trace of them.

Yeah, I noticed every single one of my PayPal points for Samsung purchases were pending and disappeared entirely.

Looks like 990B is at $1424, whereas 910B still has the deal at $629.99
Indeed, sale ended and learned the hard way. EDU price for Q990b was showing $1049.99 on product page. Cart changed to $1424.99. Contacted the order support team and they checked and said must be a glitch. Followed their instructions, shared screenshots, promised a price match difference, got an email confirmation of the "promise", bought it at cart price. Picked it up. Then, people started running. "Backend team" gave me three different reasons for rejecting the price match. Then finally settling on, "sorry the $1049 deal had ended two days prior to order date." The rep that "promised" the price match stopped responding.

As good as these speakers are, can't deal with customer support in the event something goes wrong. I packed the shit up and returned it.
