Seems to be a great deal on a rather large smokeless and stainless fire pit, can fit whole 16 inch logs. Also comes with grill grate!

It incorrectly states the original price was $119.00, upon my research this model retails for $299.99. If you need to verify yourself click on "other sellers" or just google the item. Cheers!

I would recommend to only consider the stainless steel version and not the carbon steel (black), which is also heavily discounted ($79.99from $199.99). Carbon steel will slowly rust away.

**as of 3/9, both models seem to be $79.99

one thing to be aware of with this type of fire pit is that it really doesn't radiate very much heat outward, it is mostly directed up
This is why smokeless fire pits suck.

Also because they burn through fuel faster and require more wood for less (felt) heat

We enjoy our smokeless solo stove in summertime, the secondary combustion is neat to watch. It's also nice not always running from smoke and smelling like ash.

But from the double insulated build for the secondary combustion chamber it will limit radiant heat. It is the trade off for the less smoke. I think it is worth it for an enjoyable warm weather fire.

A couple friends have smokeless pits, one couple usually lights two.
They admit that the pits don't put out much heat, have to use deflectors and get very close to feel anything.

Uhhh, tell me what's the point, again?
To rapidly burn the firewood you just bought from the camp store for $10?

Has anyone used these for cooking? I haven't gone through the Amazon reviews but I'm wondering if charcoal would work in there if you were to fire up a chimney and dump it.

From the pics, I'm guessing you'd need a 22" socket to screw it onto the base, but I'm not sure how huge of an allen wrench you'd need screw the base into the ground, maybe 18"?

I do dig the industrial look though, something different than the round ones I see everywhere. Can't say that I need it though because I have a stone pit at home and want a portable/camp model that actually puts out heat.

I'm fairly certain that is just sits on the base, no need for any tools for assembly. I used to have a similar one in this format and it was a simple assembly and disassembly process to fit nice and snug inside the bag when not in use.

You could use hardwood pellets, like ones used for pellet grills/smokers. They impart terrific wood fire taste, similar to charcoal, but even better, in my opinion ofcourse!

In fir one. We're satiating in a cabin at the moment and priced similar items at the local Ace Hardware and they're near 400.00.
The best honest review was clear that this throws heat upward but the ambiance and safety this design offers for those with kids and or pets is enough to bring value at this price.

For anyone who has purchased this, do you know what the gauge measurement is for the stainless steel version?

I haven't measured but it seems quite sturdy. Note that it weighs 25lbs. The sort-of similar size Solo Bonfire is 22lbs.
