    The Samsung Pros are one of the best drives you can get. The main reason they aren't five stars is because of people bitching about the price.

    This is a top end drive, but feel like the $131.99 P5 Plus at B&H is a much better deal $/perf-wise. In terms of gaming, real world performance will be basically identical

    Keep in mind this drive is having issues with wear, Samsung did patch it recently but there hasn't been much data or testing since.

    I installed mine in December, wrote about 3 TB's to it and it's health is already down to 94% as per crystal disk info. Not good

    Hopefully the update fixed this, and hopefully 94% won't give me any issues either. Samsung also doesn't really want to replace units that have already have this much wear, which ain't so hot

    Yes I think the WD SN850X is better. More reliable and 1200TBW and way cheaper. I bought two last week that arrived today and installed one in a new build. The drive is blindingly fast even compared with the SN770, which I also own. THEY were 2 for $299 including the heatsinks for the Western Digital. The heatsinks on the Samsung add another $20. Mine were brand new production, January 2023.

    The drive that I received (from Amazon) already had the latest version of firmware. Mine was manufactured on February 13th, 2023.
