Come on, there's no need to try and make someone feel bad about having their portable game system stolen on a trip.

We should turn our ire toward the companies that set up systems that incentivize digital purchases without any sort of guarantee that you can still play what you bought if your hardware gets stolen, your account gets compromised, your system clock battery runs out, the publisher's servers go down, etc.
Christ. Do you enjoy listening to yourself jabber about nonsense?

Cars get stolen all the time.. so should we all keep our cars parked in our locked garages? The switch is a portable game system, so is 3ds, so is a Vita, so is a Steam Deck. Should we just confine ourselves in our home when we play these portable systems?
Here I was thinking this was a thread about Shovel Knight, not victim blaming.

Portability really wins over physical cartridges tho. I lost my switch last year. Most of my 20+ games were online download. I only had to get a used switch and re downloaded the ones I play. Just buy physical if you absolutely want to keep it forever in a place that you will never forget.
Pretty sure 3DS didn't work that way. You lose the system, it's all gone. Same with original Wii
