Just my personal opinion here. Not an expert, but I've made a pour over almost every day the last 5 years.

I wouldn't waste my time with this thing.

If anyone is looking to dip their toe into pour overs, I highly recommend just getting a cheap plastic Hario V60. You can make single cups or larger with a carafe, filters are cheap, and it's great to dial dial in the process with weights, time temps.

If you want to dive in, get a Chemex.

FYI, this is only the single wall version. The previous deal had the double wall for the same price.

The single wall is fine if you plan on drinking the coffee right away, but it gets cold fast so if you need it to stay warm I'd go with the double walled version.

That said the price here isn't great. It is frequently priced at around $19 so this isn't really slick.

If you want coffee then you get a Keurig or coffee machine. Pour over is a science basically. You need the right grind of beans and there's a specific way to put the hot water. You also use more quality beans. A pour over trumps Keurig and regular drips for flavor

I just received a box full of broken glass from Amazon: they put 2 of the double walled version coffee makers in a box that could have held 6, with NO packing materials at all. And these did not come in their own boxes, so they were naked & exposed.
Either they use robots with poor programming, or people with no brains. Anyone know? Their shipping seems to have gotten even worse, if that's possible. From now on, I'm sticking with items that are almost "bullet proof."

What are the benefits of a Chemex over the V60? On a related note, who knew I'd eventually envy people who got the plastic V60 over my ceramic one…
