How reliable are Newegg rebates these days?
I cant say. I never shopped them again after I was screwed out of a rebate. YMMV.

I did one of these Enermax Venmo rebates for a nVME heatsink. The process was really weird, but they did send me the rebate money.

If it's about the same as premium brands and can last once opened i'd try it.

I stopped doing rebates because 6-8 weeks really meant 6-8 months.

Yea I need to solder this wire, but the area is so small, any heat contact from a solder gun will melt the components. I need some kind of adhesive. I heard some people using flux and then putting the entire component on a hot plate to non-contact solder it to the pad. Not sure if that's my only option
You may use either solder paste and heat gun for solder rework, or try conductive epoxy.
First one requires equipment, second - fairly expensive epoxy.

You will never see a rebate from Newegg.

Out of 6+ rebates I've sent them over the years, I only got 2 back. They were all for small amounts, so it wasn't worth chasing. Probably exactly what they want.

Last time I did Enermax's rebate for FAR fans - it all went smooth sailing for me. I received my Venmo payment within the timeframe I expected. That being said, you should always keep records of your rebates - and scan them before you mail them. I personally just scan them on my phone before I mail them.

It technically isn't "free", since you still need to pay for a stamp and most states have a form of e-commerce sales tax now. However, extra thermal paste should always come in handy - especially when doing some deep cleaning on PCs.

I miss the good old days of TigerDirect and 4myrebate - where I would have a constant stream of packages from all my rebates. It would feel like Christmas every day. Thanks OP!
Now it's $10.99 with $12 rebate, so potentially a money maker unless they reduce the rebate accordingly.

The amount of heat released by nand chip will be much less/lower than small die CPU with a lot more transistors in it so it doesn't need high W/mk numbers. Basically you're better with thermal pad instead because it's much less messier and allow better gap control.

The last time I did a newegg rebate.
I had to
create an online account to get the rebate form and submit.
download and print out a form.
cut out the UPC
attach the UPC and reciept to the form using this or that but not using tape or staple or void the warranty.
create another account at a bank site to get the rebate via prepaid visa card ( only option)
scan in the completed documents and upload to the manufacturer's website
mail in the completed form to the manufacturer via snail mail with proof of purchase and UPC label.

I will never do another rebate purchase again!!!!!!! WHAT A PITA
I will just find another compareable product on sale!

hmm..when i did the enermax rebates for the FAR fans a couple years back, they came through promptly. but i just went to look at my records for the like $2 AR ssd heatsink, looks like i never heard back from them. newegg obviously would tell me to pound sand, so i filed a paypal claim. we'll see what happens.

And I've done at least a hundred rebates from Newegg purchases and never had one denied. In fact, I've never had a rebate denied for over 20 years.
