I still have the Amazon 55" Fire TV new in the box from pre-BF deal. Never opened. I wonder if this is a better TV. I think the Amazon tv was like $110? I don't even remember what I paid now but it was dirt cheap

Can anyone comment on the brightness and how these do in a bright room or with glare? I'm looking for a cheap tv to put on the patio.

That's why I just play everything through my PS5 for that very reason... I'm a Google fanboy too & my best friend actually works for Google in the Google TV (formerly Android TV) division...& Honestly the Chromecast with Google TV is much nicer than what's on Hisense TVs... Sony does an awesome job with integrating Google TV... I honestly still think Roku TVs are the best...
The only reason why I'm not jumping on this is because it's using the Google TV interface. If it were their Roku version, I'd be on it!

I don't believe the Xfinity app can be directly downloaded onto this TV... you'd have to sideload it. (I don't have it but that's what I'm reading based on a quick google search.)

Just get a Roku stream stick they're like $50 for the best one. The TV supports Dolby Vision, HDR10 & HDMI 2.0, those features are still there if you use a streaming device that also supports the formats. Does that make sense, because it sounded awesome in my head?

Too bad they run like poop. All it takes is a few software updates to bring it to a crawl.
There's only one thing worse than plopping like poop - and that's running like poop.

go look at your local electronic recycling center...mostly hisense and tcl sets that are like 5 years or newer that are dead. i went to drop off my 12+ year old samsung that was still working that i replaced with an lg and only saw tcl and hisense sets
Imagine companies that sell 40+ million tv sets a year, and then someone sees a handful at the recycling center and thinks they've sluethed out what companies have reliability issues. Especially given the fact that the 2 companies names hold 20% of the TV sales market, and combined sell more than any other single manufacturer. You see more there because they make a lot of TVs and a lot of budget TV's that people don't treat well.

Looking to build a cheap 2x2 HDTV wall in my office.
Want to be able to use as one large screen and then switch to 4 separate screens.

Might be the foundation for my project. Bezels seem thin enough.
just a suggestion, you might want to think about a projector. with a projector you wouldn't have any seems

Regarding using TVs as monitors, you'd want it to be a 4:4:4 resolution for it to "work" as a monitor. Haven't looked up if this qualifies as such, but that is the general rule of thumb.
that is not at all true. you can use any TV as a computer monitor as long as the TV has a VGA or HDMI input
