I saw this as well at mine but the batteries have terrible reviews.. Didn't want to risk it since they cost so much. If you sort by "recent" many of the last reviews are people saying they didn't last but a year and half. For some reason, they didn't give it a good warranty on the batteries. Also the on I saw looked like it had sat outside for at least a year. Plastic whitening and everything else.

yep, agreed on the appearence of it, wasn't all that great for sure, but again, if it works, i can live with the offcoloring of the mower. I can always take a plastic polish to it to make it look nice and shiny lol

Lead acid batteries aren't suitable for this use. They deteriorate quickly if discharged below 50% on a regular bases, which seems likely if you actually have a need for such a large mower.

BS showed "Clearance", under price, for me. They had 2 in stock. They were outside and tagged $499 when I got there. Don't forget the charger, they keep them inside.
They have been sitting outside for a long time. If the batteries are no good there are lots of lithium options.

Just wanted to say thanks, went to my local HD and they had one sitting there still full price ($4999). Asked a guy about a price check which pulled up the same and he seemed skeptical about this price, but had me wait a moment while he went to check something and came back asking if I wanted to buy it for the $500. Been waiting a year and a half for a deal on an electric mower.

Don't really need it because I love my 50" Cub and have a couple acres. But what the heck, I'll take a look around because $500 is a steal. And this will fit through the gate at my mom's house whereas the Cub won't. Totally worth it, and if it goes unused you'll have no trouble getting your money back and will likely make a few bucks.

There are a lot of lithium options to replace existing batteries with affordable reliable lithium? I have seen videos of removing and retrofitting.
