Ex. Install H&R Block software on 1st computer. Do your Federal Tax first, as the program has you do anyway and then choose and complete the tax reporting for the first state. If you do NOT want to pay H&R Block to electronically file the 1st (or 2nd state) taxes for you, you can just print them at the end and mail them in the old fashion way.
Note: You can electronically file up to FIVE (5) federal tax returns, for FREE, with your purchase of H&R Block's software.
For the 2nd state, you would have to install the program on a 2nd computer. I have tried in the past to uninstall H&R Block from a 1st computer and re-install for a 2nd state but I was unable to do so, it still recognized the 1st state as already installed...I even went through the registry and removed all remenets of H&R Block from there...but somehow the program still had some roots somewhere that knew I installed it on the computer previously and would NOT allow me to download and install another state program.
Once you install the program onto a 2nd computer, grab a copy of your federal return from the 1st computer (via thumb drive) and put that on the 2nd computer and OPEN your Federal return on the 2nd computer. Import it and then when you go to do the 2nd state, you will be presented the option to download the 2nd state program and you can go from there. The reason you would want to put your Fed return on there...is that the State program can import ALL of your Fed return details...that will make the State return go a bit quicker...
Again, H&R Block does NOT allow you file your State taxes electronically for free (except NY that I know of)...so if you do not want to pay, print and mail it in...may take a little longer but saves you $20 x 2
Note: the code they give you is NOT an install code...that code is ONLY used for when you are electronically filing your Federal return(s)....that is how H&R Block knows when you have used up your 5 free Federal files...

Lmao. I hope your question is rhetorical.
Unless it goes cheaper
This is the lowest price H&R software has been this season. It's gone on sale a few times previously this year at this price as well but I'm not sure if it will go any lower.
If I'm understanding correctly, the online e-file program only allows 1 filing per account, however, the software allows for multiple returns.
Anyone have experience with filing multiple states in H&R block?
