You gotta go 2 or more times this year to make this worth it. Seems a bit much.

I wish they would offer a decent deal for Florida. Their tickets there are not competitive anymore.

Got annual platinum passes last year for me and a my 4 year old, and probably not doing it again...there isn't enough to do to justify the prices, place is missing the fun factor.

Outside of the Elite pass, the others have heavy restrictions on dates. Make sure to look at the calendar: https://www.legoland.com/new-york...lendar.pdf

As an example, they are only good Tues-Thur in July and Mon-Thur in August.

The legoland in ny I would say would be best for children like 6 or younger. Any child over that age will prob not have fun on any of the rides except for maybe 1 or 2. Most of the rides seemed to be geared towards kids around kindergarten/preschool.

We're 45 minutes away and it is really tempting to get this for my almost-5 year old and 10 year old. I figure the 10 year old is aging out of this place already, but he's really into Lego. He's past his Ninjago phase, though. There's also a water park opening, which maybe adds some value?

We've never been, and I find theme parks stressful when I'm trying to cram everything in to our one day pass, but maybe if we can leisurely do this a few times/year it'll be worth it? Especially if we do the free parking pass?

Are there enough non-ride things to do for the older kids?

Yeah the scope got reigned back because it was supposed to open during COVID. They are expanding rapidly; a large "water playground" is coming this year, but the chances of a full water park are probably minimal with NY weather.

There are short term plans for an aquarium though, but definitely not this year. They have only used 15% of the land they purchased though and if they use all of it, it'll be larger than Disney World (minus Animal Kingdom) so I'm curious to see where it will go.

We took what was supposed to be a big family trip there last summer. It was incredibly disappointing and deflating. The park is mostly incomplete, poorly designed, built largely on the cheap, and perhaps most shockingly, the store is not much better stocked than our rural Target is. We had more fun during our stop at Hershey Chocolate World on the way up and we were only there for three hours.

Surely New Yorkers can have more fun for the money.

Splash pad they opened is neat.

There's a whole other section that's unopened.
I think it's better for holidays (fireworks, candy for Halloween etc).

I kinda don't mind going back to eat too lol.

But with the platinum it seems you can do their discovery centers, sea life centers, and Madame Tussauds for free.
