Just came back Panama , almost nowhere accepts Amex card...
Dude you are so wrong! lol
My referrer only tried once and saw she was only eligible to refer someone to the 80k bonus. Wondering if she should try again.

Some Amex cards may not give increased incognito offers -- I have a SimplyCash business card that only shows standard 80k+$200 offer, but my Everyday or Blue Cash personal cards show higher 150k+$200 offer after a few tries
This offer also applies to the Gold Card 90k sign on bonus + $200 statement credit which nearly eliminates the $250 annual fee. In my opinion the Gold card is the better card for the majority of people, especially if you spend a decent amount on groceries and dining out.
I have Gold Card (90k+$200 statement credit) and Platinum (150K+$200 statement credit) on my account.
Buying seats and upgraded boarding are cannoy be used for the rebate - see above
Or if you fly Southwest, if you buy Early Bird after you purchase your ticket, or if you buy "Upgraded Boarding" to get A1-A15 boarding position, those are incidentals as well, despite the word "upgrade" being in the name. What Amex means is buying an upgrade from coach to business.
And while the Amex verbiage says it can't be used for "award tickets", I always pay my $5.60 award ticket fees with my Amex Platinum via Southwest, and it always gets refunded.

Are you saying you can generate Platinum referral from a different type of card, like everyday card?
