I have a Sennheiser HD650 I bought back in 2006 for $300 (Retail was $600) on eBay, compared to the cans I've since bought in the 4 digit range, it's a night and day difference. I doubt these would sound the same as a $200 price point headphones.

I actually agree with this point for the most part on the majority of their products, but I fundamentally don't believe this particular model is a terrible product.

Wow, compared to previous December 800s deal thread, this one totally trashed by nonsenses comments.
It went on back order within one day in December and I got my pair only 2 weeks ago. I've auditioned 800s many times before and wanted them in my collection. Right now i am re-listening classical music albums and it's real joy.

Solid deal, usually it's $1400 iirc. Good for both casual listening and music production. The soundstage is like no other, and it has fantastic imaging. I'd get myself one, but I've splurged enough on focal clear and other slick deals. 😅

There's definitely a decent section of the tech influencer community who proclaim them the best gaming headphones ever. I'm sure a headphone that lets you know an oboe is 4' to your rear left is as effective at letting you know that's where a footstep or gunshot is coming from.

On most forums this is the best headphones you can get for fps games like counter strike with it's open back soundstage. If you were professional fps player these would be the best you can get on the market. I have a poor man's version in form of akg k712 pro lmao I can't drop a grand wish I could would have to sell some skins for them if I really wanted

Without amps, this is not better than $200 headphones. So, if buying this, budget to also invest in a high quality amp.
