Chase sapphire has 5% and amex platinum (for those not having business) has 120 back. Wells Fargo, as well. Stacking these up will help since dell allows 3 cards for payment.

Are you calling after order is received, or after it's placed? I just called and they told me I already got a great price and they can't do anything at all. They were ready to cancel it.

No. I spoke to customer service and the education discount does not apply to this model. I even escalated it to management and no luck.

So, the way the customer service works in my experience is you need to convince them you experienced some sort of hardship thus you are thinking of returning. The OP lives in California which is a hardship all by itself (but he does mention overdrawing his bank account etc.) which may or may not be truthful. For me, in the past, Dell's order time was delayed a few days and when I called, they took $$ off so I wouldn't cancel. Depending on what "hardship" you identify they are empowered to give some additional money off. I won't call them a lie to get a discount, but you better believe if the order is late, or something happens that I'm not happy with I'll let them know and if that pays out - great.

Authorized users have their own set of offers. Amex sent email confirmation to the owner and a seperate email to the authorized users name - indicating successful redemption.

i usualy call immediately on the next day, 100% they give you money back to the original payment not to cancell the order anywhere from 5% up to max of 10%

i am calling tommorow since they are only open Mon-Fri and will try for the max $135 for myself
