You know how when you go to Bloomingdale's or Nordstrom's it just smells good and feels comfortable. Dollar General is the exact opposite of that
Dollar General in my area wouldn't honor the ad. YMMV, best to call before going there.

Can we buy Xbox gift card to buy the Xbox hardware ?
Story time...I bought Xbox giftcards from Costco last month to get 10% off an XSX that I ordered from Microsoft's website. I thought it would be easy like most everyone says. I was wrong.

I had $600 in credit and I told them I wanted to pay the remaining with my credit card. They ended up charging $600 to my paypal instead and then $11 to my cc. I wouldn't have even caught it right away had it not been for my fraud alert from my cc company. It was crazy that they charged my paypal account even though I didn't authorize it. I canceled the order and tried to put in another order. It just sent me to another web page and told me to contact customer support. Basically they locked down my account as being a fraud (like it is suspect that someone would purchase Xbox hardware using gift cards even though they advertise that you can) and they also flagged me as having already purchased an Xbox even though I canceled the first one due to their issue. Anyways, it took me 4 days, 3 phone calls, 1 chat (a little over 2 hours of my time, and several days worrying about the $600 of my money they had) to get everyone fixed so that I could actually order my Xbox. It went from being a fun thing to buy to just pure regret.

I have bought a lot from them using GC, paypal, and credit cards of course. It is not possible for them to charge something unless you "told" them to by selecting that option at checkout. No, they didn't just charge your PayPal without authorization. C'mon. We were born at night, but it wasn't last night my guy. Sorry it was such a pain, but it was self inflicted.

Wrong. You can ONLY split payments if you have a balance in your Microsoft Account (I had $600) and another method of payment. You can't just split between Paypal and a credit card or between 2 credit cards or something. There is no option to tell them you want to spend $100 here and $100 there or anything like that. All you had to do was complete an easy search on Google to verify that. Customer support actually had me delete out my Paypal account in order to make sure that it would go through.

Does anyone know if the Xbox live subscription cards are included in this sale?

I guess the guy at the register has something against honoring ads, I don't know, I couldn't get the discount seriously.

if it is the exact item, discount auto-applies on their system. they can't manually override to give/not give discounts. only issue is some stores don't stock those exact items.

In GA there's a DG every 5 miles… Maybe try a different store

Judging by his post after that one, he's either trolling or just not bright.

Why wouldn't they honor their own ad 🤣. Never heard of a DG store not honoring items they put on sale. Only thing that is YMMV with gift cards at DG is paying with CASH only. Some stores still allow credit card / debit card.
DG has changed their sale system to require you have to have their loyalty app, and you must "clip" the coupon inside the app and apply it to your account prior to purchase in order to get the discount.

Yes, on some things, which it tells you on the page. However, this is not one of those.

I know some people have had issues with purchasing gift cards but of the stores I have been to in PA and SC, I haven't had an issue purchasing multiple gift cards in one transaction using a credit card. I know the issues so I am prepared when I go to the store but the cashiers have always been nice and friendly.

As already stated, this is an advertised sale; not a digital coupon.

There is a digital coupon sometimes for the Lowes gift card, I've used it multiple times.
