Reviews are complaining about weird pant sizes. The typical drop for classic off-the-shelf suits is 6", so a 42" jacket gets 36" pants. This is fine. I ordered a Van Heusen slim suit from Macy's a few months ago and that had a 7" drop. So 42" jacket got 35" pants. That's even better (my ideal size is 42"/34"). But the reviews on this suit seem to indicate a 5" drop. So 42" would get 37" pants. That's really weird. This is basic info that should be included in the description.

FYI, I was looking at this deal out of curiosity, and on the page of the suit listing, scrolling down to where they show recommendations of other things you may like, there's a whole slew of different suits on sale for under $100.

Ssshhhhh. Be quiet. You're making too much sense. LOL.

Many people don't wish to spend $600 on a higher end wool suit. They are perfectly satisfied with the look of a $100 suit, which quite honestly is not bad. I would have no qualms whatsover purchasing one of these suits for occasional wear. People need to realize that not everyone wants what you want and you're really not being helpful here. Perhaps if you were pointing them to a higher quality suit that is say $50.00 - $100 more it may be beneficial, but telling someone to spend 5-6x the costs for a better product isn't that helpful.

The funny thing is that if there was a Slickdeals post for a $600.00 suit you would have a similar group of people saying that the suit is trash and that if you want to look truly like a self-made man you need to by a hand-tailored, Italian wool $2,500.00 suit. Some folks here enjoy thread-crapping more than anything else.
I spent around $200 on a suit coat that I found in the clearance section at a Brooks Brothers Outlet. I think I got a pretty good deal since the coat is at least half canvassed. Not everyone wishes to spend $600+ on some fancy designer suit. I totally get that. Nothing wrong with Macy's but you have to lower your expectations with a $100 suit. At that price the suit is going to be polyester or poly blend.

It doesn't need to be.

You can find $100 wool and/or half canvas suits. Combing eBay, or jcrew/br clearance are your best bets. Cotton, linen, and other non-plastic materials can often be had around this price point.

Jos a bank used to have regular $100 clearances of their reserve and sig gold lines. Haven't seen that in a while though.

Im sorry but the quality=trash. Your better off spending $300-$600 on a nicer suit unless it's single use.
Sorry, can't trust anyone with my finances who doesn't know the difference between your and you're.

A wise man once said "Idiots pay full price"...the same wise man said "it's not the suit that makes the man..." I'm also sure there is someone in history that has worn a $100 suit to interview for $100k job...and got the job...

$100 for plastic? Just buy a lot of soda, save the turtle killers, and tape these together. My wearable solution breathes better than polyester and no swoosh sound.

My challenge with buying off-the-rack suit combos online is that if I get a jacket big enough to comfortably fit my arms and chest, I end up with ridiculously large pants. And vice versa - sizing down to get pants that start off fitting close to what I need leaves me with an unbearably tight jacket. Alterations can help, but you can only adjust a couple inches here or there. I always end up having to get suit separates.

Edit: for other guys who have the same problem, go up a level on the site to "suits and tuxedos", and scroll down. There's a decent selection of suit separates from DKNY, Alfani and Ralph Lauren on sale, too.

It is really annoying how they do not let you pick out your pant size. Apparently they just subtract 6 from your jacket size (42R - 6 = 36 waist size) and that's how they estimate your waist size. This rule does not work if you have a muscular build. Wish there was a way around this.
Buy suit separates instead of combo packages like this. It's a little more expensive, but a necessary evil sometimes.

Is it just me or does happen to others?
I pulled the trigger last week, got it last night.
Just a top half (what do we call that? jacket?)
NO PANT
I thought they advertise it as a suit.
Is it a joke?

OR maybe they will ship the pant separately?
What would they do that?
