My wife and I take turns putting the account in our names every 2 years. We just alternate.

You're right. The standard plan doesn't include unlimited data. Most states have a 1.2TB/month soft data cap -- some North Eastern states are exempt from that data cap I believe. From what I understand, users who go over the data transferred per month are given one warning if they go over it the first time. The next months if they do go over the limit, they'll get charged something like $10 overage fee per 50GB, maximum of $100 overcharge fee. See: https://www.xfinity.com/support/a...ceed-usage

However, I am seeing that the Xfi Complete addon is available for $10/month extra bringing the total costs up to $35/month. For $35/month this plan still seems worth it with unlimited data and higher upload speeds (for select regions [reddit.com])***.

If anyone is going with this plan, I do recommend getting this "Xfi Complete" as it unlocks unlimited data caps (as opposed to 1.2TB without it), and it also unlocks upload speeds which for me tested out to be around 115Mbps, as opposed to something much less like 10Mbps without. For me, this add-on is essentially a required item.

For anyone's existing network setup, I actually didn't have to configure and/or make much changes to my network settings either. With Xfinity's gateway, I just logged in and switched to Bridge mode, which essentially made it a modem-only and then connected my router via ethernet wired, and everything worked as per my previous configuration I had with my previous internet service provider.

Does anyone else use more than 1.2 TB? I regularly do over the monthly limit but Xfinity says that in the minority that do. I figured with 4K and all the devices in the house this is the norm now.
Yes way more. 2-3 TB monthly here. I only stream and Xbox downloads plus a bunch of phones connected.

I just signed up for this even though my 1 year at 75mbps wasn't up until the end of March.
Ordered Friday, auto cancel of my current account Sunday, installed in 5 minutes Sunday afternoon.
I alternate years with my and my wife's name and use my own hardware.
$25 with no tax for 2 more years. Solid.

Before controlling how 2 teenage use internet (specifically things like youtube even though didn't pay or use any streaming services other than free one like youtube) and when everyone are remote working and remote school (so lots of video conferences) during the early part of Covid in 2020, there was one month that use over 1 TB. After monitoring usage from time to time during the month, was able can keep it until 1TB but it takes some effort (like make sure no one stream 2k+ youtube video, etc). Once all kids back to school, then it is much easier to keep it under 1TB.
I assume if don't control steaming video quality, then it is possible to get over 1TB if 4 people doing it.

As in getting a new account # and online login? Or calling to switch the name on the service all while not cancelling it? I'm interested in hearing more as I am getting fed up of calling DTV every 6 months for discounts. Also they keep raising the prices.

If that's truly what you're getting, you need to contact your ISP to troubleshoot that. Also, you need to check the speed on a wired connection for accurate results. Wireless can be impacted by so many factors.
Unless you using their modem, otherwise they are not going to do anything and blaming your modem problem which they don't support.

Yes sign up under someone else's name. They'll activate it and cancel the old service. Very very easy.

When you search your address on Xfinity it will say there's already service at this address. Click I'm moving here as a new customer.
Wouldn't that require a new modem ?

Seeking anyone with knowledge on best execution on this for a current customer suffering from increased prices due to bill creep! Is it possible to create a new account at same address? T.I.A. for any guidance or determination one way or the other. Smilie
I do this yearly using my and my wife's names, alternating. I make a new Gmail account and self install with my own hardware. Going on year 5 with new customer promo. When I sign up it auto cancels my previous account.

10G = 10 Gigabit
I think the question is this using cable network like normal cable internet. Or is this like 5G mobile network that use wireless.
The assuming is using wired cable network(?)

Maybe it's different in different states, but in Colorado I just call in once a year to customer service and can always get my bill lowered. I pay $20/month right now with autopay and Xfinity mobile discount for 800Mbps service. Even before I had mobile service with them, my bill has always averaged $40-60/month because I call in yearly when my promotion is up. Been a customer for like 11 years now.

If for some reason you call in and there nothing available, check the web for different plans, wait a week or two and call back, or worst case threaten to leave.

It says, "Using the 10G network".
Does this mean it's not the hardwired coax cable internet? Seems like that would be bad for gamers.
Saying Xfinity 10G because T-Mobile and Verizon home internet is called 5G its just to fool consumers.

250Mb is the maximum a lot of areas around my metro can get since they're too cheap to replace their 1990's coax cable.

Not a deal. I just got Sonic installed this Saturday which is $60 for 1,000 Mbps.
What's the difference between 200mbps and 1000mbps for the average consumer, besides the obvious. Torrenting?
I'd consider myself an above average user, with multiple iptv streams, multiple kids who stream and game, and 75mbps was plenty for my entire household.

If you own your own hardware, you just have to power cycle it to release the mac address when your new service starts.
