My wife and I take turns putting the account in our names every 2 years. We just alternate.

You're right. The standard plan doesn't include unlimited data. Most states have a 1.2TB/month soft data cap -- some North Eastern states are exempt from that data cap I believe. From what I understand, users who go over the data transferred per month are given one warning if they go over it the first time. The next months if they do go over the limit, they'll get charged something like $10 overage fee per 50GB, maximum of $100 overcharge fee. See: https://www.xfinity.com/support/a...ceed-usage

However, I am seeing that the Xfi Complete addon is available for $10/month extra bringing the total costs up to $35/month. For $35/month this plan still seems worth it with unlimited data and higher upload speeds (for select regions [reddit.com])***.

If anyone is going with this plan, I do recommend getting this "Xfi Complete" as it unlocks unlimited data caps (as opposed to 1.2TB without it), and it also unlocks upload speeds which for me tested out to be around 115Mbps, as opposed to something much less like 10Mbps without. For me, this add-on is essentially a required item.

For anyone's existing network setup, I actually didn't have to configure and/or make much changes to my network settings either. With Xfinity's gateway, I just logged in and switched to Bridge mode, which essentially made it a modem-only and then connected my router via ethernet wired, and everything worked as per my previous configuration I had with my previous internet service provider.

Is there an additional fee for modern and router or free?. Or is it the xfi complete that comes with an additional fee for equipment. Comcast always has hidden fees. Hence, I am asking all these questions before I commit.

Does anyone else use more than 1.2 TB? I regularly do over the monthly limit but Xfinity says that in the minority that do. I figured with 4K and all the devices in the house this is the norm now.
4k is a part of it but games can eat through this even faster.

I was able to get it to process even with the same phone number. It did detect that I had an account already, but I just selected to create a new profile anyway. It automatically cancelled my old account and proceeded to create the new one. Excellent deal! It should be a crime that they charge existing users nearly triple a new price. Absolutely disgusting behavior.

Seeking anyone with knowledge on best execution on this for a current customer suffering from increased prices due to bill creep! Is it possible to create a new account at same address? T.I.A. for any guidance or determination one way or the other.
Just talk to retentions, complain about your service, and threaten to cancel if they don't give you this offer. If the person is a foreigner don't bother and just hang up since they don't have the power. If the person on the phone is an American, they'll likely be able to do it. Just keep calling and trying and eventually you'll get it/

Anyone having issue with not seeing self installation option while signing up? I only get Professional install option that charges $100.

Signed up under my wife's name with a new account.

I got a "We received your cancellation request" on my current account. Problem is last day of service is showing as 3/13 (today).

How long before I receive the modem/install kit on the new account? What is the best way to extend my cancellation date? I don't want any downtime.

Both can be active at the same time. I had an old modem laying around so I used that one to do the self install on the new account while my old account was still open as it takes a couple days to cancel. I was able to use the new account immediately after signing up online and activating the modem.

I think I heard of people just using their existing modem during the install process of the new account so you could do that now. Perhaps doing that will automatically remove that modem from your old account?

I currently use the Xfi Complete modem, so I will have to return that and can't use it for the new account. (Makes everything a little more involved. I guess it would be so much easier with a self owned modem, but the new upload speeds aren't available with that.)

I do have an old self owned modem laying around somewhere still. I guess if they cancel my service early I can always activate the old modem on my wife's account until her new Xfi Complete modem arrives.

Please, is there an additional price for modern? Also, does it include a wireless setup?
I was charged shipping for their provided modem ($14 or so, I think), so I just chose to use my own modem instead. Yes, their provided modem includes a built in router.
