My wife and I take turns putting the account in our names every 2 years. We just alternate.

You're right. The standard plan doesn't include unlimited data. Most states have a 1.2TB/month soft data cap -- some North Eastern states are exempt from that data cap I believe. From what I understand, users who go over the data transferred per month are given one warning if they go over it the first time. The next months if they do go over the limit, they'll get charged something like $10 overage fee per 50GB, maximum of $100 overcharge fee. See: https://www.xfinity.com/support/a...ceed-usage

However, I am seeing that the Xfi Complete addon is available for $10/month extra bringing the total costs up to $35/month. For $35/month this plan still seems worth it with unlimited data and higher upload speeds (for select regions [reddit.com])***.

If anyone is going with this plan, I do recommend getting this "Xfi Complete" as it unlocks unlimited data caps (as opposed to 1.2TB without it), and it also unlocks upload speeds which for me tested out to be around 115Mbps, as opposed to something much less like 10Mbps without. For me, this add-on is essentially a required item.

For anyone's existing network setup, I actually didn't have to configure and/or make much changes to my network settings either. With Xfinity's gateway, I just logged in and switched to Bridge mode, which essentially made it a modem-only and then connected my router via ethernet wired, and everything worked as per my previous configuration I had with my previous internet service provider.

I got the same. 99.9% sure you've not signed up for anything and you're not getting any equipment. Their website is simply insanely glitchy and lets you signup with a current contract in place, but than craps out at the very end.
Yep, you're exactly right! I just confirmed with chat that I did NOT place a new order. Damn...Also, now I cannot re-create that order attempt.

I finally got an email saying "We received your cancelation request, and we're on it." Not as instant as others, but I guess this is going to work. Once they process cancellation, I'll activate my new account/plan Big Grin

Is there any downtime when you switch especially if going the xFi complete route. They send a new gateway so I'm wondering if I have to wait a few days to get the new modem to get my internet back up.
Not sure re: new hardware. As far as having my own hardware, I was surprise how quickly they disconnected my old service. Used to take exactly 14 days, but this time it was overnight. I was up and activated w/ new account right away though since I had my own stuff.

Shoot, that sucks. I'd try the chat with Comcast to see if they can waive the fee. I called them today on a different issue, and they're painful to talk to, so be ready for that, but it's worth a try. Well, it's worth $100 Good luck!
See what happened last time was when I switched to WOW from comcast WOW customer service said I was all good and nothing more needs to be done. So I called comcast and cancelled. Internet went dead, I called WOW and they said 'oops, we need to send a tech out.' I can't remember if they charged me for that but I'm pretty sure that if they did it was closer to $50, not $100

Were you required to put some Service start date while ordering online?
Unfortunately there was no option to set my "start service" date. I did choose to delay my shipment. I also received an email stating that my new and old account are now linked. Not really sure how that is going to affect my service, but I still have internet active on my old account.

For everyone having glitches when registering while being a current customer, I had the same issues where I would get to the end, and see a screen with 3 dots and was in purgatory.

What I did was:
1. Use an incognito browser
2. Use a brand new gmail address
3. Use a different bank account than the one currently on my active (soon to be auto-canceled) account

Then it worked flawlessly. An hour later I got the "cancellation of current service" email, then that night it canceled, and I activated the next morning.

Strangely enough I had to activate again the next day? My guess is that they send several cancellation signals just to be safe. But I activated again with no issues.

Tempting. Been using T-Mobile home internet for over a year, but have no love for the service. Verizon launched their c band service at my location recently, but their home 5G isn't available yet. This might be a good option for me to use until I can switch over to Verizon. Hate returning to Comcast, but with no contract, it's not the end of the world.

I switched back to Comcast today. I was paying $40 a month with T-Mobile. The service wasn't bad but it was definitely not as reliable as Xfinity. Before T-Mobile I was paying $110 for 300Mbps to Comcast. I hate the switch back to it but given that this was $5 cheaper and same unlimited data and upload at 100Mbps(xfi complete option), I felt this was the right choice.
