My wife and I take turns putting the account in our names every 2 years. We just alternate.

You're right. The standard plan doesn't include unlimited data. Most states have a 1.2TB/month soft data cap -- some North Eastern states are exempt from that data cap I believe. From what I understand, users who go over the data transferred per month are given one warning if they go over it the first time. The next months if they do go over the limit, they'll get charged something like $10 overage fee per 50GB, maximum of $100 overcharge fee. See: https://www.xfinity.com/support/a...ceed-usage

However, I am seeing that the Xfi Complete addon is available for $10/month extra bringing the total costs up to $35/month. For $35/month this plan still seems worth it with unlimited data and higher upload speeds (for select regions [reddit.com])***.

If anyone is going with this plan, I do recommend getting this "Xfi Complete" as it unlocks unlimited data caps (as opposed to 1.2TB without it), and it also unlocks upload speeds which for me tested out to be around 115Mbps, as opposed to something much less like 10Mbps without. For me, this add-on is essentially a required item.

For anyone's existing network setup, I actually didn't have to configure and/or make much changes to my network settings either. With Xfinity's gateway, I just logged in and switched to Bridge mode, which essentially made it a modem-only and then connected my router via ethernet wired, and everything worked as per my previous configuration I had with my previous internet service provider.

I'm a current customer renting their XB7 modem. If I sign up for this deal, which may include canceling current service and creating new account, will I have to return this modem or can I continue using/renting this modem for this deal?
Unless you're in the right place, and can talk to someone who can give you the deal, you'll probably have to turn it in.

I'm curious, I just got this deal. The new flex box is small than the one I'm replacing. Is the new one an energy hog also?
I don't have it anymore to picture it, but it was about 3" x 5", less than an inch thick. My little fire sticks do everything the box can do, and are barely warm in-use, whereas this thing was hot all of the time just being plugged in.

TIA

I did the xfi complete deal as an existing internet/tv customer with 1mo left. Did the #450 steps. Worked fine. Tried to activate my existing SB8200 through the app, seemed to connect but no internet. Spent hours with CS idiots and got nowhere. Frustrated, I redid the activation in the app and Shazam it started working 200/10. I think I just tried connecting too soon. Probably should have waited a few hours for system to catch up. Xfi modem kit is being shipped. If it's an x3 I don't know if I can just keep my modem connected?

Maybe because I don't have the xfi router yet or because this area, south fla, isn't upgraded yet. The thread says increased uploads is YMMV. Only guarantee is no 1.2tb download cap.

curious because i chose "have my own modem" but they still ended up shipping me something. turns out it wasn't a modem but just a cable wire.

Did you signup for the complete? I thought the xfi was required for the unlimited downloads.

If you are an existing Xfinity customer, and want this or one of the other deals (I did 800mbps w/ free xfi complete, along with some Choice TV (streaming)), I recommend you simply place a new order as a "new" customer (appears that it can even be same name and phone number). When you receive the new modem, hook up and activate that, then chat or call in and cancel the old account. Send old modem back if you were using theirs.

I didn't do the above up front, and it took me just over an hour on chat and we ended up at that spot anyway (but with the chat rep taking care of the new order), so save yourself the trouble and just do what I said above and it will work.

Those who are signing up by canceling an existing account on contract - are you paying the ETF or is there a way to get that waived?

Somewhere in this thread, someone said that you can sign up for auto draft from your checking account, but I think, that you can pay with a credit card without penalty? Can anyone verify this?
Yes, you can use your credit card to do an early payment without penalty. I did that yesterday.

Why am I paying for 800mbs but only getting around 200? If I downgrade to 200, will i get less?
No, you should've made a trouble call the moment you were getting 200. There's a million reasons why that could happen. The first I'd look at is your modem. Or router. Your modem should be docsis 3.1 and your router should be minimum wifi 5
