However, I am seeing that the Xfi Complete addon is available for $10/month extra bringing the total costs up to $35/month. For $35/month this plan still seems worth it with unlimited data and higher upload speeds (for select regions [reddit.com])***.
If anyone is going with this plan, I do recommend getting this "Xfi Complete" as it unlocks unlimited data caps (as opposed to 1.2TB without it), and it also unlocks upload speeds which for me tested out to be around 115Mbps, as opposed to something much less like 10Mbps without. For me, this add-on is essentially a required item.
For anyone's existing network setup, I actually didn't have to configure and/or make much changes to my network settings either. With Xfinity's gateway, I just logged in and switched to Bridge mode, which essentially made it a modem-only and then connected my router via ethernet wired, and everything worked as per my previous configuration I had with my previous internet service provider.

This is EXTREMELY ymmv, the higher upload speeds can be attained if and only IF Comcast has upgraded your neighborhood cabling with Mid Splice, they literally have to splice cables and do some stuff. Not all regions and areas have this mid splice done. And if you have a higher end modem won't help either.. the physical network cabling has to be upgraded.
XFI COMPLETE is a pre requisite to get those higher speeds if your area is already eligible for higher uploads via midsplice.
The Xfi Complete is mainly for rental of their modem, and UNLIMITED Data no 1.2tb caps
I wish this was clearly poster in OP In caps.
I got the Xfi add on mainly foe higher upload speeds.
My only complaint is I don't see a way to do port forwarding where I can remap the port.
I was going to wait until the existing service stops, however I could find menu "activate your modem" on the Xfinity app. This only appears after sign-out, and sign-in again to choose the newly set account within the existing comcast ID. Then I did the activation by adding some code of my modem/router. DANG, now my speed is 200/10 instead of what I had previously. I believe comcast will charge me pro-rated
Happy to pay half of what I was paying for the next two years with no contract. Maybe we'll finally get some competition in that time and I can easily switch.

I am in Midwest Illinois and unfortunately don't have that mid splice..
Easier way to tell is when you check what plans you have for your address if you see 2000 Mbps down and up *symmetric* you probably are in New region.
1). Change the existing plan from "contract" to "no contract"
2). Cancel the existing "no contract" plan/service. I am assuming that I won't be charged an ETF, but am not sure
3). Sign-up for this new 200 Mbps ($25/month) plan using my existing account credentials
I am hoping that if I do it this way, I will avoid paying the ETF. Any thoughts?
Thanks
