My wife and I take turns putting the account in our names every 2 years. We just alternate.

You're right. The standard plan doesn't include unlimited data. Most states have a 1.2TB/month soft data cap -- some North Eastern states are exempt from that data cap I believe. From what I understand, users who go over the data transferred per month are given one warning if they go over it the first time. The next months if they do go over the limit, they'll get charged something like $10 overage fee per 50GB, maximum of $100 overcharge fee. See: https://www.xfinity.com/support/a...ceed-usage

However, I am seeing that the Xfi Complete addon is available for $10/month extra bringing the total costs up to $35/month. For $35/month this plan still seems worth it with unlimited data and higher upload speeds (for select regions [reddit.com])***.

If anyone is going with this plan, I do recommend getting this "Xfi Complete" as it unlocks unlimited data caps (as opposed to 1.2TB without it), and it also unlocks upload speeds which for me tested out to be around 115Mbps, as opposed to something much less like 10Mbps without. For me, this add-on is essentially a required item.

For anyone's existing network setup, I actually didn't have to configure and/or make much changes to my network settings either. With Xfinity's gateway, I just logged in and switched to Bridge mode, which essentially made it a modem-only and then connected my router via ethernet wired, and everything worked as per my previous configuration I had with my previous internet service provider.

for those getting bounced - all I did was keep trying and it eventually went through. I was using Chrome and Safari and both would bounce me back. I would say on the 5th-6th attempt it ended up getting submitted. Now fingers crossed the rest of the process is smooth with the cancellations!

Thanks.

Do you have to cancel though? I read that folks here just switch to a new plan without cancelling

Yes some are able to get on the promo plan as existing customer, and some are having issues doing it that way. Cancelling and reapplying as new customer just seemed cleaner, this way they can't retract the rate and say Im not a new customer.

On my 6th attempt on Chrome normal mode and incognito mode I observed the bouncing off to the main site happened during Shipping page on normal mode and Submit Order on incognito. It doesn't even allow me to add/create Xfinity ID on normal mode. I still haven't been able to submit an order successfully.

Edit: have tried this out 14-15 times on Chrome normal/incognito mode, 8 times on Edge and still now luck. Lately I've just been bounced to the main page from Shipping page. Can't remember when was the last time I was this frustrated.

Had $60 1000mb existing service with my own modem/router -- went ahead and ordered new $25 200mb service + $10 XFi upgrade yesterday on existing account following the steps posted above

Old service still working fine today -- 2nd cancellation email shows April 4th end date for old account

Got device shipping email and the internet section of my new account shows TG3482G so hopefully that's accurate (XB6 device) -- I'm in a Chicago suburb and its an upgraded area so I should get faster 100mb upload speeds according to the checkout page

Device should be delivered tomorrow by UPS -- I'll hold off on activating new service until next week

I'm a current customer renting their XB7 modem. If I sign up for this deal, which may include canceling current service and creating new account, will I have to return this modem or can I continue using/renting this modem for this deal?
I was able to keep mine, but I didn't end up canceling and signing back up. I did everything through retention chat.

Those who are signing up by canceling an existing account on contract - are you paying the ETF or is there a way to get that waived?
I was told that It'd cost me $50 to switch to this plan because the old plan would need to be canceled and the new one put in place. To this point, I have not seen any sign of an ETF, but I wouldn't be surprised to see it on my next bill.

Just adding here that I bought the xFi Complete because I wanted the white modem and the xFi pod and what I received today was an old, black square XB3 with no pod. Chatted with xfinity support and after much whining and begging, I had to accept that the white modem cannot be used with a connection slower than 800 Mbps (at least according to this chat rep) and so I cannot use the white one even if I had it since my service speed is only 200 Mbps. They didn't really want to give me the xFi pod at first and said I should test my connection for 14 days and if I need an xFi pod they'll send one, but I complained that the entire reason I paid extra was to get the white modem and the xFi pod since that is listed as being included with xFi complete, so they told me they'd just go ahead and send the xFi pod. I suppose I'll get that in 1-3 days.

I hate that I received a modem that was released over 6 years ago and feel like I should be able to get something more modern, but it is what it is. I'm getting the $30 ACP credit so I think I'll be paying about $5 total per month for decent internet service. A solid victory overall. As long as I do get the advertised speeds when I test it out later or tomorrow...
This is total BS. I am still using my white modem from my 800 plan that I had before I went to this one. It works fine at slower speeds.

FYI- sale ends today. Also, you can chat with xfinity and they'll tell you if your address has the faster upload speeds. Mine, alas, does not have it yet, nor did it have a start date, but they are convinced it'll help this year.

They wouldnt give me the extra $10 off my current plan with my auto payment with credit card...like i said before, not giving a another business my bank account number these days!
I have a checking account that is for online things only like PayPal, Venmo, and this. it always has a low balance and wouldn't be a big loss if compromised. One day before the payment is due, I schedule a transfer from my normal account to that account and then they take it out. All good.

The terms clearly say only 5 dollar discount for auto pay by card, 10 for auto pay by bank

What a hassle. Signed up with the same xfinity account, and got shipped the equipment. Maybe took too long to activate but the new account got marked disconnected and disappeared from the xfinity account. Had to call, ignored on a Sunday. Called yesterday, got to cancelations and he was whining about the "new customer only" bs and "only online promo i cant access it". Had to sign up for a 2nd new account while on the phone, he canceled the self install delivery so I could just use the ones they sent the 1st new account, and canceled the original account while on the phone. Said he activated the equipment on new account but still had to self activate it all on the app.

At this point I should be good, he gave a credit for the prorated amount on the old account but damn. Typical Comcast.

Oh AND they sent a 7 year old manufactured date, used, paint stained cisco XB3 because of the speeds. Ugh. No shiny white tower. But an up dated flex.

FYI those free flex gonna get charged in June irrc

For those that signed up for the new deal under the same account, how has the cancellation process for your old account been going? I received an email several days ago that said "we received your cancellation request" but the account was still running. I called yesterday and they apparently got a supervisor and cancelled it but I got the same email again: "we received your cancellation request" - how long before it gets fully cancelled?

Edit: I chatted with Xfinity today and they claim that my account will be officially closed on 3/30 and I won't be charged for anything after 3/20. Sound right?
I was told the same dates for my cancellation

Here I am with my only option being Breezeline which gives you a whopping 6 month promo price of 40 bucks for 200 mbps and then it's 87 after that.
