My wife and I take turns putting the account in our names every 2 years. We just alternate.

You're right. The standard plan doesn't include unlimited data. Most states have a 1.2TB/month soft data cap -- some North Eastern states are exempt from that data cap I believe. From what I understand, users who go over the data transferred per month are given one warning if they go over it the first time. The next months if they do go over the limit, they'll get charged something like $10 overage fee per 50GB, maximum of $100 overcharge fee. See: https://www.xfinity.com/support/a...ceed-usage

However, I am seeing that the Xfi Complete addon is available for $10/month extra bringing the total costs up to $35/month. For $35/month this plan still seems worth it with unlimited data and higher upload speeds (for select regions [reddit.com])***.

If anyone is going with this plan, I do recommend getting this "Xfi Complete" as it unlocks unlimited data caps (as opposed to 1.2TB without it), and it also unlocks upload speeds which for me tested out to be around 115Mbps, as opposed to something much less like 10Mbps without. For me, this add-on is essentially a required item.

For anyone's existing network setup, I actually didn't have to configure and/or make much changes to my network settings either. With Xfinity's gateway, I just logged in and switched to Bridge mode, which essentially made it a modem-only and then connected my router via ethernet wired, and everything worked as per my previous configuration I had with my previous internet service provider.

By my own equipment I meant the old setup I was using for the current account. Still good to go?

P.S. Do they provide a router too or just a modem?
They gave me a gateway, which includes the modem and router in the one device. If you wanted to use your own router that's up to you. Though if you try using a modem that was attached to the "old" account that may cause issues if their account teams look into it and see you used it on another account previously.

This promotion came at the right time for me since my SBG6580 Arris gateway just shit the bed literally a day before. I had just switched to a standalone modem and the same router but it was blocking some of the games I play from working so it's nice to have this setup.

The thing that amuses me most though is that my wifi is getting 200+Mbps while my two wired devices get half that. You would think it'd be the other way around.

They will give you 2 weeks at no charge after you call to disconnect. Just to make sure you have a smooth transition to a new service.

Ah - is that standard and always the case? Saw someone else said theirs went dead right away. If so great then I don't have to worry about shipment times for the equipment

By the time I got home from getting the gateway at my local Xfinity store my service on the old account was shut off.

I guess as soon as they linked the gateway to my new account my old one and the connection was shut down. I guess if you wait for them to ship the gateway to you then they may leave the old account alone until you get it.

The worst thing about getting the one in store is that the one they sent me had better specs. The one I'm using has 24 channels downstream and 4 upstream while the one they sent had 24 downstream and 8 upstream channels.

I don't know what these bozos did, but the last 3 days my internet has gone out around 9:30 am and come back around 1:30 pm. That regular timing is suspicious. Chatting with them is more painful than being without internet.

I had same situation but I sent msg through the app and they fixed it in an hour. Tried chat first but that was a waste of time.
Thanks for the tip. I just notice my reward level is also downgraded to silver but sending a request through the app fixed the issue right away.

Those who signed up during the last week, are you able to redeem free Peacock? I read that after April 2nd, Peacock wont be included

Yes if order online just use another person name in household = new customer. Just use different phone number. Credit check is optional if you use Autopay or $100 deposit. Check self install and wait for Modem to come and activate it no downtime.

Make sure to remove Autopay from previous account if its setup.
Do we have to cancel the old account?

If so, when do we cancel it? After the new one is activated or before we activate the new one?

Yes sign up under someone else's name. They'll activate it and cancel the old service. Very very easy.

When you search your address on Xfinity it will say there's already service at this address. Click I'm moving here as a new customer.

Well got things up and running. Interestingly my Speedtest speeds are like 10% lower with their modem vs my old one 🙄 but it's also less than half the price so can't complain too much.

One question: was the 100mb upload speed only for the slower 250mb DL offering? I'm still only getting around 22 like before. Thanks!

sorry to extend this again, but, its difficult to keep up with all 1276 posts. for me,
the Good = they sent me their big clunky modem. I Finally have speeds up to 200 mpbs, uploads up to 10.
the BAD... Not sure IF old account really IS closed. I've gotten Two emails saying I requested to Discontinue.... finally CALLED, a nice lady in South Africa, assured me it was taken care of. hummmm.. two: xfinity moble...done Everything I can think of. been on the phone, 2-3 hours. 'team members' are Clueless, I've spoken to perhaps 8 different people. All say something Different. my phone Are/Should be out of contract (says to on website) got new SIM from tello. phones Now want a Code # . First they said, 24 hours, then, up to 48 hours... past that now... woman even claimed she would Call me back to check, well, don't hold your breath. I'm Not sure the phones are even Worth the aggrivation...

anyway, Thanks to SD, and OP for getting me the speeds I've been paying for for years, but never receiving.

Sorry if this has been asked before,

I noticed Flex is Free on the promo page, but according to this page. They will start charging for Flex at the end of April 2023
cabletv.com/xfinity/flex

Comcast term on the Flex page says xfinity.com/learn/flex
Quote :
Not available to current Xfinity TV customers. Requires post-paid subscription to Xfinity Internet, excluding Internet Essentials. Pricing subject to change. Taxes, fees and other applicable charges extra, and subject to change. One-time $15 activation fee per account. Limited to 3 devices. Currently, one device included with monthly Xfinity Internet service. Additional devices $5/mo. All devices must be returned when service ends. Separate charges apply to On Demand and certain streaming services. Viewing will count against any Comcast data plan.
Does the promotion include Flex addon as long as you have Xfinity Internet Plan forever, for it just for 2 yrs promotion duration?

If you on have "basic" flex package (ie only use stream content that which don't require streaming subscription; Netflix, Hulu, Paramount plus) Does Comcast charge you other taxes for the flex service? In a nutshell, will my monthly service bill be the promotional rate ($25/$30/$35) depending on how I choose pay for the service (bank, cc, autopay)

Does anyone know if I link my bank account for autopay but use my credit card to pay for it before autopay, if the $10 autopay will still apply?
