Had this bookmarked to get for my new house and noticed that it's gone on sale, so I decided to snag one and share it here! Great as a secondary workbench to put on the side wall when I'm wrenching on my whips.

I bought 3 of these at the end of 2020 and installed them in my clinic's patient rooms. Sturdy bolts secure it into studs. Clean up easily. I leave them up all the time, but would be easy enough to press the latch and let them down in seconds.

Search brand "Sumnacon" on Amazon for heavy duty folding shelf brackets. They sell 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, and 20 inch sizes ranging in price from $12-$26.

This is still a decent price if you don't already have a top you can throw on it since even an IKEA top will be $100 and up.

Edit: The Sumnacon brand is rated for much lighter duty installs (130lbs or less) that's more typical for a computer/small project desk, but, as pointed out in other comments, there are several options in the same price range that use similar construction and support 300-500lbs.

I paid about full price for mine and still love it. I have some play in the latch, like a few mms of movement, but the versatility of it outshines that.

Is it possible to buy such brackets separately? I have plenty of word that could function as the top. The garage doesn't need new and pretty.

I built one of these with brackets and ply and attached it to my workbench. It makes me wonder how I've been able to get along without it.
