I bought 3 of these at the end of 2020 and installed them in my clinic's patient rooms. Sturdy bolts secure it into studs. Clean up easily. I leave them up all the time, but would be easy enough to press the latch and let them down in seconds.
Search brand "Sumnacon" on Amazon for heavy duty folding shelf brackets. They sell 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, and 20 inch sizes ranging in price from $12-$26.
This is still a decent price if you don't already have a top you can throw on it since even an IKEA top will be $100 and up.
Edit: The Sumnacon brand is rated for much lighter duty installs (130lbs or less) that's more typical for a computer/small project desk, but, as pointed out in other comments, there are several options in the same price range that use similar construction and support 300-500lbs.

I paid about full price for mine and still love it. I have some play in the latch, like a few mms of movement, but the versatility of it outshines that.

These are awesome, installed a couple years back and they are very sturdy. No issues. Having a single stall garage, space is hard to come by so I like that I can fold these down when not in use.

Thinking of doing the same or similar. What kind of clinic do you run? It's not too industrious (non healthcare) kind of a look?
