The issue I have with this wooden one is the pages are exposed. You might think "we'll duh" but from owning a transparent acrylic holder made me realize I will most likely not use the wooden one again. Primarily because I use a lot of cookbooks for sauces. And for sauces you mix a ton, and I always go back to the cookbook often.
In conclusion, I was dirtying my cookbooks with the wooden one even with minimal recipes. The acrylic is now my permanent go to, simply because it protects the pages of cookbooks I spent good money on.
