No clue what that means, but I assume it's a VA panel that is close to IPS?

The acronym can be slightly confusing as AHVA technology will sometimes be mixed up with Vertical Alignment (VA, see below) even though it makes use of In-Plane Switching (IPS)."
So, it uses IPS, it's just its own technology.

But historically, I got burnt a few times with monoprice's deeply discounted items, such as power bank and USB hub with design flaws or quality issues.
