Junk unfortunately. You will need a pair of pliers or channelocks to get the bit out. It's not the magnet holding it, it's just too tight a fit.

You pull out the magnetic case first and take the bit out. I've never had an issue. More over the magnetic case is to hold the screw. This will come in handy real well when you've a location tiny bit out of reach and you're trying to screw in with single hand. Don't have to worry about screw falling off.

I like the little green Makita mag boost magnets better than these. The mag boost (#B-44971) just slip over whatever bit your are using, adding magnetism. too bad they've been discontinued and only come in the bit sets now. luckily I already have several, so I should be good for a while. I have not tried any of the new XPS mag boosts tho.
