I have this flipped upside down and use the bottom as a TV tray. My cat prefers others posts maybe because it is upside down not sure

Got three of these last time. They are really good quality and my cats love them!

I have a price alert for the top cover, as I def am not paying over 10 for something that should be included.

I have one of these. Once it arrived, I needed to set it outside for 2 days to get rid of the strong adhesive smell. Besides that, my cat now seldomly uses this instead of the furniture.
I had one of those "cat condos" with sisal wrapped around the post from the base up to about 18". The cats wouldn't touch it until they realized I'd never buy a new couch no matter what they did to it. Once they got a taste for the rope they tore the hell out of it. I re-wrapped that post twice before my little friends' time came.

Best scratching post I've bought by far, and my cats have been through a lot of scratching posts over the years -- tall enough, easy to assemble, heavy and stable, looks decent and minimalist (no yucky faux carpet), and the sisal lasts a long time (much longer than rope-based posts or some other woven sisal options). I've never experienced any funny smell out of the box, either.

This is a great deal on a product that rarely gets discounted. Shame I just bought a new one a few weeks ago to replace a 5-year-old one that finally wore out.

is this replaceable or once your cat tears thru it you have to buy another ?
My cat is like Wolverine on a killing spree.
You can replace it, but you can't really repair it because it's impossible to find sisal matting wide enough for the height of this post and it's not put together in a way that would make it easy to repair. Even if you could find wide-enough matting, you'd have to almost completely dismantle and rebuild the post part, which while not hard with the right tools and hardware is really not worth the time and effort vs money saved.

But even with the most aggressive cat you'll probably get several years out of this so I'd not worry. It's by far the longest-lasting scratch post I've ever bought.

Tbh i found the scratch pole at Five Below is a good buy too for $5. It has a cotton ball on top and the base is also scratchable for the kitty. My cat has been crazy for it the past few days

FYI, this is the regular price. Wayback machine has the exact same price on Feb 15. And May 22. And, and, and...

The $79 "list" price is a lie.

You must have an outlier cat. Every cat I've had has used this post constantly. So much so I bought multiple for two cats.

This looks identical to the one I have....

Mine has lasted for maybe 4-5 years now, fabric/carpet part is pulling off slightly in parts but it still has plenty of life in it. It has been scratched hundreds of time by several different cats, including my big chonker cat. It has been invaluable as far as keeping them from scratching my furniture/doorways. Haven't had a cat that doesn't use it, but I have had cats that won't use smaller vertical scratchers or horizontal scratchers.

By far the best cat scratching post I've ever used. I've been buying them for 7 years now and am only on my third with 2 cats.

These are the best. My first one lasted 5 years and I just ordered a new one before this deal! Cats like tall things to scratch and this is thick and well made. Your cat will thank you.

The $79 is a lie but I wouldn't say $30 is the regular price. $50 is. But $30 is still nice from $50
