I've been smoking in this grill since the deal last august. Had some issues with the board on it (twice) but got replacements from customer service without much hassle.
Don't recommend, or see purpose, of wi-fi control of a smoker.
Now a wifi or bluetooth temp probes, yes!

I got a "Govee Bluetooth Meat Thermometer with 4 Probes" last december and have used it a bunch of times... including some 20hr cooks. Done well. Paid $16 from govee direct on a sale.

WiFi would be nice... but for $16 it works!

I have a Camp Chef Woodwind that's just over 5yrs old... NEVER a flameout, NEVER a fire. I do basic cleans occasionally.... been solid.

If you're considering a Pellet smoker, check out the FB group "Camp Chef Smoker Smokers" It's an excellent group, well admin monitored, and VERY helpful.
I joined weeks before buying... learned a lot, helped me make a decision.

My $.02!

My wife wants a pellet smoker but it's gotta be Wi-Fi connected, as she wants to be able to control it from work. This seems unrealistic and unnecessary feature to me but idk- anybody have any recommendations either way? Wi-Fi connected seems super expensive.
They do sell wifi board for non wifi pellet grills. I know Pit Boss does.

So - it aint a slick deal but a friend of mine gifted me a meater recently and it changed my life. Granted, its bluetooth to tablet to far away phone (2 devices required) but it does achieve what you are looking for.

Have this smoker. We've been using it for almost 3 years and CampChef really stands behind the product. They sent me a replacement controller after using it for about 2 1/2 years. I agree that Wi-Fi is nice. But you can always buy an aftermarket Bluetooth temperature probe - now it wouldn't allow you to adjust the temperature on the fly. But at least you could get your temperature through Bluetooth. Just an idea. I think $380 is a pretty good deal.

Control from work while someone is home I hope? I definitely wouldn't leave it unsupervised. Wifi/internet can always go down.

Good deal. Ive had this same model for a couple years now and although I haven't used it as much as I would like, it's been extremely reliable when I have. I've done tri tip (probably easiest and my go to), pork spare ribs, brisket, and chicken on this and they've all come out better than expected. I highly recommend the sidekick attachment if you can find one and you don't have a separate gas grill outside.

Any deals on the sidekick?

I have one of these from a prior deal (literally using it right now actually!) but would love to add a sidekick.

this is a great smoker, Been using it for about 2 years now. though I do want to caution anyone that thinks these are made to be able to run all day without supervision. I got mine with the set it and forget it kind of mentality and after a few oh shit moment flare ups, I don't use it unless I'm home with it. That being said, it would be very unlikely to have any sort of issue if you keep it really clean so as to not have a grease fire

I have a similar version. While I'd be comfortable leaving it for an hour or two, I'd not trust it to be gone for half a day. Nearly all of my smokes require wrapping the meat to preserve tenderness. I had the auger catch fire one time on a long smoke. That would've destroyed the smoker (and my house) had I not been there. Great pellet smoker once I learned a few things. Makes phenomenal jerky.

I'm assuming this is the exact same model? It's hard to tell exactly. I have Al's local so I can go pick it up.

I got this same DLX nearly 3 years ago. Love it. I've had zero issues with it and use it regularly. The smoke control is an awesome feature and the large hopper lets it go for many many hours without refilling. I also don't get the appeal of Wifi. I'll leave it for a while during the day, but going to work or something, no… I would highly recommend spending the difference in price for this and a wifi model and get a separate wireless thermometer that's either Bluetooth or wifi. Then, you can use it for this or with a different grill. I have two smokers and a grill and like a separate thermometer I can use with any of them. The only benefit to a wifi smoker is the ability to adjust temp when you're away, but when I typically adjust temp, I'm doing something else too. Wrapping the meat or basting or something…

Edit: I also love the ash dump feature. This is the best value pellet smoker to me.
