A study conducted in Stockholm, Sweden by Dr. Kollath showed that young animals fed a cooked, processed diet initially appeared to be healthy, but once they reached maturity, they began to rapidly age and develop degenerative disease symptoms. The control group that was raised on a raw, uncooked diet did not age as fast and showed no degenerative disease symptoms but remained healthy.
Another study out of Belgium used data gathered from more than 500 domestic dogs over a consecutive five year time period (1998-2002). The authors, Lippert and Sapy, were able to statistically show that dogs fed a homemade diet, consisting of high quality foods used from their owners' meals versus dogs fed an industrial, commercial pet food diet had a life expectancy of 32 months longer ā that's almost 3 years
There are numerous studies around both for and against kibble you just have to decide which is best for your pet. Just ask yourself who has more to gain from writing a study about processed dog food being healthy the company which produces it of course why would they give free pet food to veterinarians who are in school or sponsor studies with monetary donations. Who gains the most when a pet gets sick. If you figure out these questions you will have your answer.
FYI, if you try to counter that it has 4 stars on DogFoodAdvisor, it is a pay-for-play scam started by a dentist: https://pethelpful.com/dogs/Why-Y...od-Advisor
Unfortunately, there is nothing like CatFoodDB for canines.

Not sure about the flea and tick stuff, but man people are hostile to the idea that their dog kibble isn't the best diet.. it's like some mass brainwashing. "LOL PEER REVIEWED STUDY BRO!?". No, it's just common sense.
Would you eat the same processed food daily for your entire life and expect to be healthy? No? Why would it be any different for a dog? They didn't evolve eating low quality food from a Nestle factory.
Such a simple concept that is lost on so many. Sad

Dogs are not the same as humans. Dogs are also not wolves. Dogs have been domesticated for thousands of years, I promise they live longer and healthier now eating something like Purina dog chow or Ol' Roy than from whatever they received a thousand years ago.

I've seen those Reddit threads, and the arguments are always the same. Something about diverging from wolves, while ignoring the elephant in the room that kibble is a recent invention and most dogs prior survived on "people food". Kibble is mostly low quality food that is balanced enough to keep your pet alive while making $$.
Kibble is fine in moderation, but for optimal health they need real food too. Different cuts of chicken, organ meats, fish, turkey, some vegetables, etc.
