No wheels make these pretty heavy when filling up with beverages. I have had the stainless steel version for many years
Right. It's a conversation starter at a backyard BBQ because every guy there over a certain age will remember him or his dad having one back in the day. This would also be a good decoration in a man cave. There is absolutely no valid reason to have one of these today with the variety of good coolers out there other than the aesthetic and nostalgia factor -- especially if this was one of the colors they sold back then.
I have the silver version of this steel-belted cooler. Cool factor 9/10. Utility factor 3/10. Coolers in the sun aren't a good idea, but steel-belted coolers in the sun are a terrible idea. Hot Hot Hot

This is or rotomolded cooler? Rotomolded coolers easily go for twice the price. Seems like steel construction would be more durable than plastic but what about insulation.

I don't think they are like the Yeti or RTIC coolers or at least the sidewalls don't seem as thick but it is rated for 4 days per the manufacturer. These retro coolers do however go for more than double. Look at Amazon or any sporting goods retailer and these steel belted models typically for for $150-200+
Blue may not be the most sought after color but still a deeply discounted price nonetheless and with Costco the easy return policy should you change your mind

These are the old school coolers from the 80s. Most were dark green or a maroon.

This is I am almost certain the cheapest this cooler has ever been. While I'd like to have the matte finish Coleman Reunion steel belted cooler with the bottle opener, they are $240.

if you feel like drilling in one then one cost $19 [amazon.com]

I don't really see this cooler as a lug-all-around cooler, more like an accent piece at the pool for parties and backyard get-togethers or grocery transit storage (Alton Brown uses one in one of his Good Eats episode). I wouldn't take this camping or to the beach but one with wheels like the maxx cooler line

This!
I own a silver one
Looks great, super durable, terrible insulation
Most often it doesn't keep ice overnight
Works great as a drink holder on the patio, but the RTIC is the one that goes to the beach or camping

This isn't for in-store purchase but online only with free shipping, I use the Costco Citi card with various cash back and even though I don't buy much compared to the typical Costco shopper (I check out with less than four items usually) I make enough cash back where it pays for the membership cost itself

I bought one of these like 8 years ago for $35.
It's red and i like the color. It's heavy and has no wheels, so it not really portable. Basically i put it in my trunk of my SUV as for groceries holder. It keeps the meat frozen during hot summer days, so it buys me more time to go shop at different stores, or have a lunch without worrying the frozen foods in it.
