How did these compared to other speaker stands? Can you fill them with sand? Do they have a channel to hide the wire?

I was ready to hit "Order" but then went and measured. Too tall for my setup; I need the 28".

I need speaker stands and sturdy ones from being knocked over. Was going to order too but realize I need lower too (24")...hopefully they will go on sale soon too. Not too knowledgeable in speaker stand height. I wonder if 24", 28" are more common for different bookshelf speakers.

You want the tweeters to be a ear height in your seated position. The tough thing is that surround speakers should be 12 - 24" above your ear height (and the back of you seating). It's tough to find sturdy stands that are that tall.

Picture in an Amazon review states that it's about 25lbs of sand divided among the four columns. Easier if you have a funnel as the opening is small.

I did see 12 - 24" above ear height (and the back of seating) as recommended for surround. This along with the great price for a sturdy stand makes it very tempting.

I got new front speakers (still not delivered yet) so I was thinking about trying my kef ls50 as surround speakers (my amp should be good to power it). kef manual says to use 24" speaker stand (which is below ear level. But "24" max height is for bass floor reinforcement AND keeping the tweeters BELOW ear level to smooth the treble response. The treble response rises on axis and therefore should be slightly below ear height as they are designed.").

32" actually get's the ls50 at ear level. I wonder how much the tonal balance of the LS50s is affected by the height of the stands (as stated above) along with atmos speakers and sub. I guess I can test the ls50 at different heights first or buy this first and see how it sounds (secure the price and easy return). But I should probably get the right stand height instead of buying just because the price is great.

Well built and heavy. Yes, you can fill it with sand, but hole is small. I have the 28 and 32.

32 will be too high for the LS50 unless you are sitting on a bar stool.
