If you are an explorist or higher on the hyatt rewards, you will also have gold status on MGM which waves resort fees...

I compared pricing directly to MGM Resorts website (and even calculated in the 10% off potential if you use the Travelocity app and code APPONLY10) - still came out $5-10 cheaper on a stay in mid April....
How do you apply that code? I'm planning a trip and was trying to use that code but couldn't figure out how to apply code. FYI, I am also booking flight, hotel and car, package deal.

While not an MGM Property, I am sure that it will work elsewhere in Vegas too. When checking into the Venetian I have tipped the check-in person $50 for a 'complementary upgrade' and to 'do something about the resort fees'

9/10 times the resort fees were waived. The one time they weren't, I inquired while checking out saying something like 'When I checked in I was told the resort fees were going to be waived'. That person then took them off the bill.
Of course the Venetian would waive those fees they don't charge for parking either

My $29 per night became over $100 with taxes, tourist fees, tourism fee, parking fee, and the dumb resort fee.

For that I'm out.

It's ridiculous how much they are charging now for parking. I missed the good old days when parking was free at every single resort.
Resort Fees should be illegal. People are shocked when they check out and are charged the Resort Fee. I don't know how Las Vegas gets away with it.

22 Las Vegas hotels with no resort fee.
When I'm looking for a Vegas hotel, I don't want to pay resort fees. Or parking fees, for that matter. I want to use my money to have fun! So I've done some research and made a list of the 22 hotels in Las Vegas without resort fees.

I can tell we have a bunch of rookies in the comment section.

Everyone worried about resort fees are unaware of Loyalty Rewards Programs and how to status match with hotels rental car companies and airlines.

Did you know resort fees are among the most deceptive practices in Las Vegas? MGM Resorts is among the many Vegas destinations sued for such practices. The resort fees are not illegal in and of themselves but can be illegal depending on how the hotels charge their guests.

Not a good deal with resort fees IMO.

I remember when there were no resort fees, and I am probably done with Vegas because of them. Biggest scam ever.

I would probably need like 60 percent off to even think about it with those dumb fees.

I had been going to Vegas since the early 90's and there were no such thing as "resort Fees". Room Tax yes, but no other surprise BS fees. Keep in mind, these are hotels in Vegas, not resorts on some exclusive island or dream getaway. This BS Resort fee thing seems to have mysteriously appeared in the last 8 years and once one hotel (not a resort) tacked on a resort fee and got away with it (because consumers don't put their foot down and boycott or ban that hotel or chain), then other hotels started jumping on the bandwagon and taking advantage of guests. Then MGM properties started charging for parking and soon others followed. Parking was always free at the hotels/casinos before! So I refuse to support these hotels that have the nerve to charge these fraudulent fees!
