Ordered one last night before this post. Beats earlier deals. LP conversion possible. Slick price for this powerful fully loaded 420 cc 7500 running watt generator.

Special feature: The built in ST smart transfer switch will automatically start the generator and back up a critical load. No house wiring required. Buy the ST accessory outlet separately. Plug your refrigerator freezer furnace or other load into the ST outlet which also plugs in to the wall. Run the ST cable out to the generator. When utility power fails it will start the generator and automatically back up the critical load.

No consumer generator has pure sine wave output. Not even inverter generators. More important than low THD for motor compressor and pump health is no voltage sag-surge when the load starts. For that you need at least a 390 cc engine.

There are several ways to adapt to dual or tri fuel use. Automatic electric choke and remote starting are not retained in most conversions.

The basic components: (i) a Garretson KN demand regulator or equivalent (ii) gas entry is accomplished either by porting the carburetor or adding a snorkel behind the air cleaner.
(iii) regulator: a common rv LPG cylinder pressure regulator (iv) a metering valve or reduction orifice at the outlet of the Garrett Kn to adjust the fuel delivery for typical engine load and elevation.

Cost $30 to $300

(A) Buy the new auto switchover carburetor with regulator. It switches from LP to gas and gas to LPG when either one runs out.

(B) Buy one of the many inexpensive Chinese all-in-one dual or tri-fuel carburetors with integrated KN-type demand regulator.

(C) Buy a kit from Century or another outfit which employs a snorkel or gas entry adapter plus
the Garrarson KN. Over-priced but good for those who have little knowledge about or training on LPG regulators plumbing or fuel pressure.

I didn't research this model but if it's even remotely reliable, this is a fantastic deal considering the skyrocketing prices lately

Home Depot [homedepot.com] has the similar WGen7500c for $1,049.

Also went to Westinghouse's website to look up the MSRP, and it's listed at $1,049. So this deal is super slick, IMO. Smilie

One con in this review video that concerned me was that it's not got pure sine wave output. FYI. https://youtu.be/KWAV6qrq6N4

Wish it was DF but those rarely go on sale.

Anyone know if there are any significant downsides to using one of the dual fuel conversion kits vs the factory one?

Thanks - was looking at the Century kits, a little pricey but it looks like they work well.

For anyone worried about it being gas-only, it's fine unless you want propane for larger than 40lb tanks. The larger units like this rub much better on gasoline.....

Lowest price ever according to CCC. Previous price dips for this have been short lived, about 24 hours.. I would still choose this today over the Wgen6000 if that super deal returned because the 7500 is the premium model with the 420 cc series and easily worth $75 more. Possibly a clearance price on non-carbon detector models. Fuel consumption is 0.41 GPH @25% which is better than many 3500-4500 watt models. Long 16 hour run time.

Engine 420 cc Westinghouse OHV 4-stroke
Starting system Recoil, Electric, Remote
Power
Voltage AC: 120/240V 60 Hz
Running watts 7,500 W
Starting watts 9,500 W
Running amps (@120/240V) 62.5/31.3 amps
Peak amps (@120/240V) 79.2/39.6 amps
Run time @50% load 11 h
Run time @25% load 16 h

Sorry for the stupid question, im moving from AZ to the NC coast and wanted to pick up a home generator in the event of power loss. Are you able to plug one of these into your home to power it in the event of a power failure? if so do you require any special connections at the box or anything?

Is it possible to wire this up for a house so you can just plug it up outside and it can run your outlets? Or do you have to run cords all over your house?
